  1. I've tried 3 different CR vendors over the last few months trying to buy just an under belt. They all advised that CR only sells the belts in sets. While I've got a belt setup for Limited both with a Glock and STI, L-10- Glock, Production-Glock and STI-GP6, and SS. I like keeping an underbelt with each rig plus wearing one for a pants belt...I've worn a under belt as my everyday belt for years. As one of the above post said I've had to let someone use my regular/pants underbelt at matches a number of times. First time I realized I've got 6 belts set up. I guess I need to set one up for Revolver.
  2. If you like a magwell that gives support (shelf) to the hand then look at the "Jim Joyce Custom" website. Jim makes his magwells out of aluminum or delrin and will modify it if you need it done. He made one for one of my SS and modified it to a lower profile to ensure the Cobra mags seated well for me. He also modified one to have an open front that I'm looking forward to trying. Sorry I don't have the skills to post a picture.
  3. Scott, When you talk about building your own gun that is great but to then decide to build a mold to make your own set of grips...man that is real dedication and, determination. Looking forward to seeing you race that thing and then I want to shoot it! Paul
  4. I don't know about the newer 9mm mags. On my original older design 9mm mags, I find that using a S&W 59 series flat base works and fits the IDPA box.
  5. I just ordered and received some new mags from Caspian. They refer to them as the "tactical magazine", these have a smaller aluminum base on them for the IPSC Standard division. When I ordered they wanted to know if I was planing on shooting IDPA or USPSA to know which base I needed on the mags. These hold 15 rounds of 40 and fit in the Production box USPSA uses.
  6. Nemo's solution has worked great in my 1911 and 2011 guns for years. All calibers .45, .40 S&W, 38 Super, and 9mm. I use that system in bushing and bull barrel guns. I only replace recoil springs 1500-2000 rounds.
  7. Understand your thoughts on the expense and having a smith make the build. I have several built by some of the best. I am ready to make the leap myself, not overly concerned with the expense or cost if mistakes are made.
  8. Not sure how it happens, due to the significant difference in mag size. I contacted Limcat and inquired about getting his modification to a new Caspian frame, as I am wanting to try my hand at putting a new gun together. Mr. Lim replied that he would not modify a frame, due to the cost involved (none quoted), that he would only do a complete gun build for someone wanting the frame to use S_I type mags. He stated that he may begin manufacturing an investment cast frame that would already contain that conversion if there was enough interest in the shooting world.
  9. Folks, I sent Angus an e-mail and he didn't know there was a problem. He replied that they have indeed been hacked. He'll work on getting it corrected...ASAP.
  10. If the Single Stack is for use in USPSA you may want to reconsider the steel panels under the grip. It appears that Appendix D5-22 would prohibit those as any ...device that adds weight to reduce recoil.
  11. It is my understanding that IPSC only recognizes, Open, Standard (not Limited), Modified, Production (more restrictive than US as to models), Revolver-Standard. There are no L-10 or SS divisions under their banner. Are theirs the divisions you are going to recoginize, or are you going to allow all US divisions also? If the match is to be ran under IPSC rules. I would suggest that our folks read the IPSC rules and make sure that they are compliant. Production and Standard are much different than our Production and Limited divisions. Jack, I hope to shoot it on Friday as I've got to be at out Sectional on Sat and Sunday. Thanks for stepping up to do this one. I'm looking forward to playing. Paul
  12. Jack, Are all IPSC divisions being recognized? The post by Chuck indicated only Open/Standard divisions in SC. Can you advise? Also these dates Oct 1-2 conflict with the NC Section match, scheduled Oct 1-3, as several of the SC folks come shoot our match also. Thanks! Paul Competitive Shooters of Statesville
  13. We use the TRu-ball at work and the 870 Rem with rifle sights will put them all touching at 50 yards if you do your part. We routinely shoot a 10 inch steel swinger at 100+ yards. They are the tightest grouping slugs I've shot in 36 years of using a shotgun.

    HATE

I hate all the whinning that I hear from shooters about the sports, both USPSA/IPSC and IDPA. All whin no action to improve, change or better the sport. Folks are raising cain about where these sports are going... To hell in the proverbial handbasket if they only complain and never offer any fix or help. People don't like the stages at USPSA matches due to (you pick) low round count, not revolver nuteral, to many rounds, built for Open guns, L-10 guns, no original thought, no imagination..... Well my suggestion is to offer your help with that marvelous imagination of your's, those great original thoughts you have. Some work at helping create stages and keeping them "fair" to you name the gun, equipment. People raising hell about Bill Wilson and his "dictatorship" over IDPA, rules changed on a whim. "Bill decided this is not 'tactical'..no one would do that in real life...." Well where do they direct it? To other shooters who join the bitching, but no one questions the powers that be. Direct your inquires to Mr. Wilson and ascertain where he developed his knowledge of "real Life and tactical involvment". Either be part of the solution or ... but either way quit the bitching. It's not always easy. It shouldn't be easy. Life is a complex journey that should be enjoyed and experienced. Shooting is part of that to many of us. If it's not what you want... work at making it better offer your time, energy, ideas. Well that is what I HATE!! pvhendrix
