  1. Sorry, for this delayed notice. The Blue Grass Sportsman League http://www.bgslinc.com/index.php is having their monthly USPSA Match, 6.06.10. This month the long gun is rifle. The round count for pistol is 103, and the round count for rifle is around 32. Bring extra ammo. Match registration will be open from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM at the shelter in the pistol pits. The Pistol phone will be answered from 8:45 AM until 10:00 AM. Match fee is $20.00. BGSL members shoot for $15.00. Junior shooters (17 and under) shoot for $10.00 with a paid adult. Second pistol run will be $10.00 for everybody. As always, we welcome new shooters and spectators. You can always view our complete schedule here http://bgslinc.com/webcalendar/month.php
  2. It was great meeting you. Hopefully, the next time you come to 'God's Country, I'll be back shooting. A.T.
  3. Come on out, I can't shoot because I had a total right shoulder replacement last month. My Doctor said "No recoil for at least two months". Hell, I can't get an empty (no ammo) pistol up to eye level,.... yet. Anyway, I have some Wilson mags, Blade-Tech pouches, and a Sting Ray holster if you want to use them. Just let me know, A.T.
  4. The round count will be about 90 and will be stages from SS nationals. After the match we'll be having a steel challenge type stage for bragging rights to help raise money for the berm improvements. The rules are simple, you shoot what you shot the match with and there will be 3 divisions: SS, Production, Revo. Entry fee will be 5$ per 5 string run and we'll throw out the slowest and add up the rest.
  5. We always welcome spectators. Normally, the 1st Sunday is USPSA and the 4th Sunday is SASS. When you have a chance, check out our calendar. http://bgslinc.com/webcalendar/month.php A.T.
  6. Well said Chris. SS is demanding, but is fun to shoot. A.T.

  8. We shoot real guns, with real bullets. We can't appease the liberals and anti-gunners unless we give them our guns. I personally will NOT do that. A.T.
  9. First Welcome! Those are some great photos. Lot's of work. I didn't attend because I had a total right shoulder replacement on April 22nd. I will attend next year. Thanks again, A.T.
  10. What about poppers, will they fall? A.T.
  11. Bastian, I'm glad that your safe. Oh yeah, WELCOME! A.T.
  12. My club http://bgslinc.com/ is having their 5th Sunday Single Stack/Production shoot on the 30th. Why don't you drive down and shoot my 9mm Trojan? I had my right shoulder replaced about a month ago, and my doctor won't let me shoot for at least another month. All you need to bring is a belt and some ammo. I'll furnish a Blade-Tech Stingray right hand holster and some Blade-Tech mags. Let me know, A.T. atbarr@windstream.net
  13. Welcome Suzanne, you have been given some great information. You should consider http://shootersconnectionstore.com/STI-Trojan-50-45ACP-Fiber-Optic-Front-Ambi-Safety-Stocked-Item-P1670.aspx in either .45 or 9mm. I have both. I also have slim grips on them, because I don't have large hands. Shooters Connection is located at 804 South Broadway Unit 9 Georgetown, KY 40324. Give Mike Foley a call at 800-387-4045. You can go by and handle a whole lot of different guns. Stay Safe, A.T.
  14. Have you gone to http://uspsa.com/ to look for local clubs/ranges? One good thing about L10 is, your mags are much less expensive, than the high capacity mags you must have in Limited to be competitive. Good Luck, A.T.
  15. Breaking news! Following the IDPA match this Saturday (around 2 p.m.) there will be a Shotgun Side Match. All proceeds from this side match will go directly to the Pistol Club's pit expansion fund. The bulldozer is already at work expanding Bay 1 in Pit 1. This improvement will open the possibilities for some great new stage designs. But earth moving is expensive, especially when rock in encountered. So we decided to see if we can raise a little extra money and have some fun at the same time. Let's find out who is the best defensive shotgunner in Kentucky. Invite all your friends! If you can't make the IDPA match, just show up by 2:00 p.m. to shoot the side match. If you want to participate but don't have a suitable shotgun, just bring some factory-loaded shells and I am sure someone will lend you a shotgun to use. Side match details: Entry fee = $5 per entry; enter as many times as desired. Nine shots required. Shot size must be no larger than #6. Bird shot will be fine. Targets will be the Texas Star and 4 Pepper Poppers. They may be engaged in any order. There will be a division for any shotgun you may have. Competitor may start with a maximum of 5 shells loaded. Reloads may be performed as desired or needed after the start signal. Reloads may be stowed anywhere desired, but may not be in either hand while firing. Start position will be: muzzle pointed downrange, safety on, finger out of the trigger-guard, butt of the shotgun touching the shooter's belt.. Prizes will be bragging rights and the knowledge that you are directly helping improve our shooting facility. There will be 5 categories recognized in the results posting: Open = any shotgun, any accessory, any sights, any gauge. This is the only division that may use electronic or optical sights, compensators or speed-loaders. Heavy Autoloader = 12 gauge or 16 gauge Heavy Pump = 12 gauge or 16 gauge Light Autoloader = 20 gauge or smaller Light Pump = 20 gauge or smaller

  18. Ok people, the weather is going to be absolutely perfect Saturday. So come on out to the BGSL and take out your aggravations on our steel for being rained out at our monthly USPSA shoot, last Sunday. Saturday and Sunday, we had over 7" of rain. Drought, what drought? The Blue Grass Sportsman League http://www.bgslinc.com/index.php is having their monthly Steel Showdown match at BGSL, Wilmore, KY 5.08. This is similar to 'Steel Challenge', but our bays are not long enough to be associated with the 'Steel Challenge'. We are working on that. Steel Showdown is an action pistol match that requires the competitor to hit 5 or less Static steel targets. Most stages specify a specific steel target to be shot last (Stop Plate) This format is friendly to all skill levels and is a great event to introduce new shooters to an action pistol event. Set up 8:30 , Registration Starts 9:00, New Shooter Check out 9:30, Match starts 10:00. **** New Shooters - (i.e. Any Shooter who has not had a new shooter check out at a BGSL Pistol Event) must attend a new shooters check out or they will not be able to shoot. Cost: BGSL member $10, Non- Members $15 – Second Gun $5 (Juniors - $5 with paying parent) **Junior 16 or younger Equipment: Any safe centerfire pistol / revolver .355 (9mm) or above or Rim-Fire (.22 ) We recommend a minimum of 3 magazines – 5 being better for magazine holding 10 rds. or less. Holsters must be a strong side and cover the trigger when the pistol is holstered **Rim-Fire pistols may start at a low ready but must be bagged at the completion of each stage. Eye and hearing protection is required for shooters and spectators. Ammo – a typical match would require 100 – this is with no misses – BRING EXTRA. We offer a second relay for shooters who which to shoot the match a second time. (Same pistol or different) If you are a member you will need to use your gate card to open the gate. If you are not a BGSL member, simply use the key pad at the gate to call the number displayed on the sign for Pistol (006) and whoever has the Pistol phone will use it to remotely open the gate after you state that you are there for the Steel Showdown match. The Pistol phone will be answered from 8:45 AM until 10:00 AM on 5.08. As always, we welcome new shooters and spectators. Thanks for looking, A.T.
  19. CANCELLED? CANCELLED? We only had 5" in our rain gauge. Steve, you made the right call. A.T.
