  1. Awesome video and webpage! What system do you use to record your videos?
  2. I recently started shooting pistol competition. I have an archery background and am use to looking at the target an overlaying the sights....NOT staring at a sight in front of you. I have been working at it and working at it but sometimes I feel as though my eyes are doing sprints. It's just a hard habit to break. Add to this...my twice Lasik operated on eyes went south at 41, and now my near vision is in the crapper. So, with this all being said....is OPEN a good choice for me too?
  3. Thats the problem Im running into. I cant find the hole that is being referred to in the manual. I have taken the slide off of the gun and I and working on the guide rod itself. Blake Do you have the little plastic take down tool? Go to the STI webpage and do a search. I believe it gives you step by step directions. If not, PM me and I will walk you through it.
  4. The Final Chapter!!! I got my Dillon back on Saturday, via FedEx. That's right, 9 days from Maryland, to Arizona, repaired and back home! Long story short....FLAWLESS! I knocked out 700 rounds without a hitch yesterday. Dillon...you guys rock! Thank you! (I just got off of the phone with Eric to tell him the same)
  5. Folks...let me apologize for lashing out at Neo as I told him "Neo...yes I think we have a communication problem on my end...I apologize. I have received several PM's telling me I misunderstood. That being said I was frustrated. I lashed out at you and now I apologize. I should have made a general post...and will. Wow...now I understand the popcorn comment at the start of my post...this is a touchy subject. Last time I will say it , and this is for all of you that have PM'd me telling me I did not hear someone brag about sandbagging....I know what I heard. It does not need further explaination. It happens! I was simply asking why someone would do it? I have yet to shoot a match that had prizes or awards. I feel that people, especially shooters, would always want to move up. I was seeking a higher explaination. Whew....can't we all just get along? !
  6. Dang dude...ever consider something a little more safe...like Bingo?
  7. I cannot make this any more clear....what I speak of was comments made before the match even started. It was a private conversation that I overheard concerning a previous match. I do know the difference. Would you please quit debating what you did not hear? If anyone thinks this sort of action does not exist...well, I need to try what your smoking. My intent, or purpose of this post was simply to find out why people would do it...plain and simple. Don't debate what I heard! Now.....back to something more positive!
  8. Congrats! Now you can make some more videos with all of that free time!
  9. All - thanks for the feedback! I have yet to shoot for prizes so that was new to me and explains a little. Heck, it's all new to me as I have shot 2 USPSA matches so far. Glad to see my experience is the exception and not the norm. Always a few controversial subjects in every sport. Either way....I am having a BLAST! I wouldn't change it for anything. Besides I use the negative for motivation to do well!

Good Luck! I have the same goal as you as far as shooting. I am just to chicken to post it for everyone to read!
  11. Money says you heard folks making jokes. I have involved in so many clubs in so many states......and I have yet to find this elusive sandbagger that always trashes the classifiers just to constantly win all of the prizes at every "big" match. However, I probably hear comments/jokes similar to what you heard at just about EVERY match. And yes, those comments are usually directed at a small group of folks. Now while that "group of folks" are good shooters, they always seem to screw up the classifier in some fashion.....hence the jokes. But I know for a fact that they just suck at the skills typically required to shoot consistent classifiers. And when you look at their major performances, they are commensurate with their current classification. ......However, if I thought anyone was sandbagging or deliberately keeping their classification low, I as the club president and section coordinator would be correcting that "problem" quickly. And as I stated before, I have yet to make one correction. So again, you probably just heard folks making fun of each other. I hear ya. Make no mistake about it....I know the difference between good natured ribbing and being serious.
  12. I chalked up a couple of the so called bragging as an attempt to make themselves look better than what how were performing on that day....but the others were pretty darn serious. I didn't know them so I just listened. To me? I always want to advance and be challeged. I would rather be the lowest B shooter than the top C, and so on and so on. Im my opinion when one sandbags it just diminishes the entire system. Ok...getting off my soapbox now.
  13. First off - I am new to the shooting sports so I am learning, so please enlighten me - Why do people openly brag about sandbagging a classifier/qualifier? I am confused as to what there is to gain by this practice. I have my initial feelings on this, but before I state them I would prefer to hear an explaination. I have witnessed this on several occassions and have bit my tongue. Feel free to PM me if you don't want to post for all to read.
  14. I felt a long trigger blank tonight for the first time and am in love. I have large hands and have now realized that a squared off trigger is my cup of tea. I own a Brazo's High Performance Edge and have looked at the website and would prefer something other than a basic black block trigger. (say that three times real fast) So with that shape in mind...can anyone offer a suggestion for a more colorful trigger ? Silver or chrome look is what I have in mind. A red or blue will work too. I just don't know where to look. Thanks in advance!
  15. That is one of the most powerful tributes I have seen to date...Thank you! I am retired Navy, my oldest will be a commisioned USMC officer in May....then heads for flight school. Sort of puts things in a different perspective for me now. God Bless our troops and vets!
  16. MCAS(H) Santa Ana/Tustin,(HMH-363,HMT-301) Quantico, Va (HMX-1) NAS Willow Grove (HMH-772) Do you know Mike Mcglinchey from your HMX days? I am retired Navy, working for Rotary Wing Test squadron at Pax River, Md. I work with Mike now. My oldest just completed OCS at Quantico. He graduates from KU in May, attends TBS and then off to flight school. God help us...I pitty the enemy!
  17. News Flash Part Deux!! First off - thanks for all of the help from the forum members. I do appreciate it. Well....the big blue has been sent back to the mother ship. There are just too many problems that we (Dillon and myself) cannot figure out so they asked me to send it back. Now I watch the calender and buy factory ammo for the shoots! (yuck)
  18. Just to update everyone - Dillon sent me a new shell plate and it arrived Friday. I shot an IDPA match on Saturday and my first USPSA match on Sunday. Hopefully i will get to it this weekend....that is when I am not bowhunting! Oh wait, next week I can get to it....no...I am on leave all week and will be bowhunting M-W and muzzleloader starts on Thursday-Saturday and another IDPA on Sunday. Isn't life great!
  19. News flash!!!!!! Dillon is scratching their heads too! I readjusted my cam and no joy. I spent approx two hours on the phone with Dillon. We tried everything. Bottom line is we are going to try a new Casefeeder cam arm. If that No worky....then the whole package is going back for them to figure out. I must say...they were awesome! It is hard enough, and frustrating for me......but even more difficult for them being a thousand miles away and trying to troubleshoot over the phone.
  20. Looks like a BLAST! Those were some incredible looking stages!
