  1. Hey PJB45 two more New Mexicans will be there from the SE portion. We are shooting Saturday. Good Luck. Also does anyone have directions from Hannibal to the Range? Much appreciated.
  2. How is the range doing with all the rain and flooding along the mighty mississippi? Hoping for the area to dry out some before next week.
  3. WOW!!! The slam on the C Shooters. WE may not be as fast as the Bs and above but what we lack in speed we make up for in resillience. ROFLMAO
  4. Hey There NM NOOB. Not for nothing but if you are looking for quality at a savings instead of a CR Belt I would recommend Double Alpha. Same good quality for a bit less money. THE Blade Tech Holster is a good choice and as for Mag pouches There are plenty of good ones available. I sugest watching the Classifieds hereOn BENOS. Also as for the Para a good trigger job and good mags you will be fine. Been shooting my para several years and as long as I do my part on the reloading I have not had a hicccup yet. Unlike many hi dollar S_Is. Just my .02 worth. If you need a magwell for the Para and a couple of Mag ext. Let me know I'll make you a deal on my spare DP items.
  5. welcome aboard to a fellow New Mexican. This Stae has a great bunch of shooter and always willing to help a noob. BTW I also shoot a Para in Limited when not shooting Single Stack (Primary Division)
  6. I shot WNYPPL back in the late 80s early 90s. Now in NM and still shooting. Welcome aboard
  7. Always be prepared for the unexpected!!!!
  8. The way I read the following I am not sure if the STI TRI Top slide is legal for Single Stack: Prohibited modifications and features: External modifications or features such as weights or devices to control or reduce recoil (such as, but not limited to, thumb rests or components which could be used as such). Coned barrels, bull barrels, or barrels with flanges, except in 1911 compact pistols with a barrel length of 4.20 inches or less. All other barrels must have barrel bushings and conform to factory profile. Slide lightening, cuts, ports, or any milling providing a competitive advantage Would that not be considered Slide Lightening? Just curious
  9. How about a pressure platform to open the trap door and allow the targets become visable? Then when you step off it closes and the targets are gone.
  10. I'll have to read the other discussion. WSSSC just had a stage that had a target that disappeared at the shooters control. A no shoot dropped to cover the target when activated by a popper. It was approved and legal and also not considered a NP Disappearing target either. Shooter controls when it disappears.
  11. Thanks for all the advice. I'll try again this weekend. I'll ask more questions I am sure. I like the ability to move around though the stage and look for shoot through and traps. Great views.
  12. Excellent stages Robert. What program do you use when you design stages?
  13. URGH!!!!! I am soo computer illiterate. Evertime i try to move my props they dissapear below grade. This is harder than just drawing them out.
  14. Hey thanks guys for all the info. Not that it matters to lil ol C Class shooter. But I will continue with the SS for classifying. No sandbagger here just a shooter that doessn't get home early enough to practice like I want. Seems my pactice occurs at the local matches.
  15. So are they really "U" or do they just not have a SS Classification? I thought that if they are Classed in another Division then they are classed one level down. Is that not the case? Or is this 67 brand new shooters? Just curious.
  16. If you really want a quality 1911 at a value price I would recommend the new SA Range Officer. A few dollars to add a magwell and some quality mags and ammo. The RO is every bit as nice as my TRP witout some of the frills. I added some skateboard tape to the front strap as well. The RO is ~ $700, SA Magwell $69, skateboard tape $4.99 and 5 CMC Power mages $100. Add 1000 rds of Herters 230 gr FMJ for $320.00 and you are just a tad over a grand. ($1195)
  17. I also massaged the trigger it is a crisp 4#. I removed the Magazine safety and due to not having the Memory bump on the beavertail I taped mine down. As for being unrealistic airsoft practice, well IMHO anytime spent working on the basics is time well spent. I notice that when I spend the time dry firing, shooting my airsoft or my GSG then my performance at matches jumps up. If your one of the lucky few to have aa range close by or in your yard and unlimited funds for ammo then live fire is always best. I am not that luck so I make due. BTW alot of top shooters report training with airsoft. Who here can tell them its a waste of time. Shoot more, shoot straight and shoot safe.
  18. Congrats on your new build. I just got a Caspian frame also (although without the cool serial number). Compiling all my parts now. Waiting for the slides to arrive so I can start fitting. Gonna be a .45 build also. I know there are cheaper ways to go but I wanted the experience.
  19. Welcome aboard Jessie! It is so good to see someone with the enthusiasm, youth and potential you show. Looking forward to shooting with you again. ANd your dad if you must bring him. ROFLMAO
  20. Congrats to everyone. this was an excellent match with great weather and good folks. I really appreciate how everyone from squad 8 worked together. It was fun and challenging. Great Job Steve and Crew.
  21. No matter what you decide to shoot it'll be a great match. Robert always puts on a premeir show and is an excellent host. Never a dissapointment at DT Ranch.
  22. not sure of all the details but, I know the stages are posted, nothing on squading and a shooters meeting on the range @ 0700 and shooting @ 0730. I got that from Steve via email.
  23. lots of talk about putting sand and gravel in for this year may not be an issue.
