I guess i am dense on this subject. So the way I read the policy even if I placed 1st in my Class at an Area Championship I am not gaurenteed a slot. Is that correct? It will be left to the determination of the Section Chairs and/ or Club Directors is that correct? Sorry but I too was planning on going this year as well. I can't check in Front Sight since I did not receive it yet.

I am wanting to build a ground up Single Stack and I plan on doing as much of the work myself. I also what to have the more conventional slide serrations at the rear only. I have tinker with my own pistols for some time and been a mechanic for many years.

Powder choice with precision bullets 200gr?
Jammer1911 replied to Pro2AInPA's topic in 44/45 Caliber
I am using the Precision RNFP 200gr. Loaded with 5.4 gr of 231. When chronographed last match it was at 168 PF. OAL is 1.214 with a taper crimp of 0.471. Accuracy in my Springer factory TRP is about 1.75" at 25 yards. Plenty acurate for USPSA at least for me. FWIW. -
Victor what magwell is on that trojan? It does not appear to be as deep as the DP Ice or the techwell.

Thanks for the info. No High dollar places, but I am bringing the wife. I'll look close to Mesa and Superstion mall. I am looking forward to this match. Phoenix was troublesome when I was there several years ago. Vehicle was broken into and dashboard was destroyed. It was near the interstate and I park close to the lobby. Well shoot straight and shoot fast. till Jan. Thanks again

SO with USPSA running the show does that mean better or not? And what is meant by more resources? I have dropped my Limited shooting in April to concentrate on SS. It makes me concentrate more on the basics than my Limited gun did. The purpose for my doing so was to get better at SS so I feel confident enough to go to PASA Park and not embarass myself too awful bad. SS has certainly taught me humility. Anyway enough ramblings and back to my original thought, Should I plan to attend this one ready or not before the changeover? Thanks for the thoughts.

I have a 40 Limited and lots of 40 brass. I also have a 45 SS and lots of brass. The load for the 40 and the 45 not much diffence. Price to load the 45 is minimally more than the 40 and makes major a whole lot more easily. I think it comes down to a matter of preference. In SS i stuck with the 45 since I don't need to mess with Mag issues. No real patients for that. + the expense of mags to find what works could offset the loading costs in long run. JMHO

All this Revo talk I forgot for a minute that this was a thread about Single Stack Nationals. As for the different flavor for the match in 2012 after the USPSA gets to run it, what does that mean? Will the match not be run as well? If thats the case I may need to discuss with the boss my going in 2011 instead of waiting till 2012. So many matches so little vacation time.

+1 on Steel1212 comments. I have a TRP i compete with it is a great shooting pistol right outta the box. I also have a loaded parkerized that shoots great and is my back-up competition gun (only added the S&A magwell). then i have a Custom carry (Purchased in 86) and a Pro. SPringfields customer sevice is top notch. especially Deb at the custom shop.

As ready as I can ever be. Looking forward to the match and the comaraderie. See ya'll then. -
Oh yeah and I forgot to mention I baought additional mags for less than half of the STI style mags.

I think that you should shoot what you can afford. Sti, Svi, Para no matter. I have a para 16-40 and have not had any issues other than ammo (usually my fault). I do agree it is a bit finiky with factory ammo. 1.20 seems to be the majic number for OAL. I spent less on the para and was able to buy a good belt, holster, mag pouches and Dawson base pads + lots of components for ammo and have had fewer issue that a friend of mine who but the more expensive STI. That being said I would like a caspian or a SA wide body .40. IMHO

As did I Jordan. Looking forward to the match will be a great time. -
The GSG 1911 also has spare mags readily available. very acurate but does need a trigger job. Let me know if a regular 1911 MH fits I would like to trade out mine as well. Great gun for the money and inexpensive practice.

completed registration last night sent check this morning -
I have been shooting my Para in Limited for two yrs without an issue. I do however have trouble with factory length ammo. I am currently using 170 gr bullets loaded out to 1.140 and it has run flawlessly. I am using factory mags with factory springs and followers and dawson bases. I can get 20 rnds comfortably (eases reloads)and 21 in my starter mag. Just my honest opinion.
