  1. Hey Z Congratulations and good luck.
  2. Thank you gentlemen and fellow snobs. Just returned from vegas and no I didn't win big. But it was a pleasant break. Now it is back to hard work leading to WSSSC. Have a great week everyone.
  3. HAPPY BIRTHDAY Jade fellow Sagitarian and Elitist Snob. Mine is today!
  4. I just read an email from my section coordinator, and he said he has not heard anything yet. So much for getting them distributed in early November. Only two months till we can send in for the wait list. Not sure about anyone else but I have to put in for my next years Vacation before the end of December. Just gonna put the dates in and wait and see. Boss gets pissy when you make changes later (except for emergency)
  5. Pardon my ignorance, but what is a C/P cut? I like the Nowlin barrel as well and have one in my Pro.
  6. Anyone have pics or diagrams? I would like to see what I should be doing before I start removing that which I can not put back. Thanks for any info. BTW Happy Turkey day!
  7. Hoping everyone has a wonderous Thanksgiving. Please as your giving thanks remember all our Troops far from home and in harms way. God Bless and Keep Our Troops! I am starting training regimin for WSSS. Hooorah!!!
  8. Thanks for the welcomes. I am proud of being firmly ensconced in my 1911 roots. 1911 was my first pistol and since has always been my preference. Shot a Revo Model 66 service pistol as a duty weapon in late 80s, albeit not by my choice. Just did not feel as comfortable as a trusty ol' Slabside.
  9. I know Mike, you are a good sport. I am looking forward to Mesa in January 2011. 1st Big Single Stack Match of the 100th Anniversary of the JMB 1911!
  10. Thanks all. I appreciate the acceptance. As for Paul, well I will certainly try to mentor him. Sorry about your disappointment in Hobbs Mike. Are you still thinkin of going to the WSSSC in Jan? Let me know I'll see about getting us squadded together. Let me know. BTW Mike my number for the list is TY55041.
  11. Thanks Mike . That is also true. Recieved the 1st Annual Lea County Action Shooters Top Shot Award (including Certificate suitable for framing).
  12. Well Thank you so much. I am shooting the Western States Single Stack in January and hopefully will be able to shoot the SSN in Il. BTW I have 6 1911 SS including one Colt U. S. Army Model of 1911.
  13. I am respectfully submitting to the Board for consideration my application to the 1911 Elitist Snob Club. Additionally this is the same gun I started shooting with in 1987 when I was a member of the Western NY Practical Pistol League. Some addition since then such as the BT Grip Safety (Have the hammer bite scars to prove its worth), New hammer and a SA Magwell. The pistol was a SA Custom Shop purchase in 1987 and mods completed by them as well. BTW I am also shooting a GSG1911-22 for rimfire SCSA Matches. (In honor of SS) Thank you for your consideration. Mark TY55041
  14. Thanks. I sent Jerry a PM to ask about them and Shooters Connection only has black and silver. I found that 1st post yesterday but saw it was an 07 post. But am checking anyway. Thanks
  15. Does anyone know if they make differnt color basepads for Wilson 47D Mags? If so where can I get them? I know I have seen them but not sure if they are still made and available. Thanks.
  16. When will slots get dished out to the various sections. I have talked with one section coordinator and a match director who talked to another. They have not heard anything on this. Must be top secret!
  17. +1 on Chirpy's response. I have a SX16-40 S80. Very reliable. I talked a friend into shooting USPSA and we found him a 16-40 as well. Only issue with his was a broken extractor. 20 dollars and 30 minutes I had him running again. The price is good for what your getting. I have been very happy without spending the $s on an S_I and using it on reloading components instead. Mine also has run flawless on 1.20 OAL. Just my .02 worth.
  18. Once again Thank you for this info. I am hoping that it is all a mute point and there will be enough slots to go around. I was really looking forward to this match.
  19. Thanks for checking that out Sperman. Just out of curiousity what is that magic number? If there was enough competitors to give a class award why would that not be enough to earn a slot? I guess this is all to confusing. And if I read correctly the earlier posts claimed that this match has not sold out the last several years it should all be mute. However now that slots will be dish out by the sections how politcal will it be to get one?
  20. Thanks Rooster. I am leaning toward that plan. I called Foster and was told they currently did not have any sets in stock. I am just gathering info and will try them again before I purchase. They are Caspiaan blems.
  21. Thanks I'll check them out and give'm a call as well.
  22. First off let me say thanks for the responses. It is truely appreciated. For the bigger tools such as mill and grinder polisher I have a friend with a machine shop. What is the Foster website? And should I call Caspian direct since thier website doesn't really help with Slide and frame kits? I know this is a big undertaking. and not as cheap as buying a complete pistol, but I think it will be a satisfying endeavor.
  23. Escuse my ignorance but what is an 08 Safariland Holster?
  24. I appreciate the advice Eric. I think I'll go with the Race Ready Caspian Slide and frame set. Any opinion on what the best Gunsmithing Vids to purchase or rent might be. I am not in a hurry with this project I plan on taking the time to do this right and build a quality pistol. What are some of the tools that I should get for this. I have a bench block, punch set, smithing screw driver set, Extractor adjustment tool and a dremel.
