  1. i'm trying to get classified in both open and lim-10 and use different powders for both my blasters. i haven't tried my limited gun powder in my open gun even though there is data on the both calibers (38 super and 40 S&W), and vice versa. is there a powder that can be used on both limited and open guns that performs well in both? that way i can just stock up on one type. anybody have any suggestions on where to start?
  2. maybe i'm a neat freak when it comes to my guns, but that gray haze in the front of my stainless slide....oh well like in all sports our equiptment gets dirty. i'm going try some of the vv powders for my open blaster now that the well of sp-2 is almost dry. whats the cleanest of the 3n/n3-something group.
  3. i had used a 5 inch 1911 (my father's) soon after i got started in ipsc style matches. i just recently bought a STI eagle 6.0 with a unique slide and wide extended dust cover. i made this purchase not to join the "better equiptment, better shooter" crowd, but because i liked the feel for this type of gun, it was compatable with my exsisting rig, and finally it was a better shooting firearm. in closing, shoot what you got, practice, and and most importantly have fun! i believe thats why all of us got into this sport in the first place.
  4. i'll be the first to admit that i haven't shot a lot of different podwers i find something that works and stick to it. however i am not opposed to trying new stuff, and if it cuts back on the clean up afterwards all the better. i have tryed hodgkins titegroup and sp-2 and both of them are pretty dirty. but with my limited experience maybe they're the cleanest, i don't know. maybe it's my lube, i use FP-10. any suggestions on how i can spend more time shooting and less time cleaning?
  5. once you try supercomp, you'll question why you did anything else.
  6. welcome a truly religous shooter spray and pray or is it pray and spray welcome to the sport!!!
  7. i used to run sp-2, but with that going out of production, i'm thinking of using hs-6. i checked jmass site and found it lacking in this particular powder . i run a dawson built open with a 6 port comp, starline 38 super comp brass, federal 205 small rifle primers, and remington 124gr heads. any ideas for successful major loads?
  8. have you tried utilizing a prop throughout a stage. like a handcuffed brief case to the shooters weak wrist. that way they're stuck with it the whole stage and can still reload and clear jams.
  9. i have a first gen 20, (the serial had 3 digits) . after a while and about a thousand rounds , a pin near the center of the pistol got loose . after about 50 or so rounds the pin wound drift to the side out of the hole. most times i noted this pushed it back, no problem . but a couple of times when i didn't catch it, the gun would blast the the rest of the rounds in my mag full auto . anybody else have a similar experience?
  10. help i really have RUST in my barrel!!!! i swabebbed it with a copper brush and gun oil to break it up, and ran patch after patch, and repeated multiple times, but its still kinda coming out reddish brown. there doesn't appear to have any damage other than the rust particles in there. HELP!!!
  11. i got no problems with the full size triggers (smooth), but i'd prefer the textured ones that come with the baby glocks (more tactile friction!). I'm pretty sure it can be done. but would it still be production legal? what would be the least expensive way? any clues, glock shooters?
  12. at last some answers. Mr. Zueg stated that the action pistol portion will be hosted at koko head range on june 14 and 15th.
  13. my target to target splits are usually about .40-.50 secs at about 7-10 yards, with 90% A hits. second shot splits on the same target are consistantly at about .14 secs.
  14. anything in august? i be in LV with the ball and chain, and i would mine doing allitle shooting while around there.
  15. any restrictions on total ammo wieght? some say 11 pounds, does it vary with different airlines?
  16. static, my best reload is 2.02 at 10 yards with A hits, but i average arround 2.5 secs. how fast does the super squad reload?
  17. might i add good life insurance, or at least a good surgeon?
  18. no reason, i was thinking about cost. we shoot mainly steel and occasionally paper with slugs. thanks for the feedback!
  19. my bro got one and "thinks" it will help him. i on the other hand never have had a problem with stuffing mags into my glock. whats been your experience?
  20. our club plans to have a few 2 gun matches. any suggestions for what buck shot shells mate well with a mossberg 500 pump. price is a bit of an issue, but i'm willing to read your hi and low end choices. we don't shoot enough shotgun to warrant reloading, yet.
  21. a while ago i heard several shooters at my club nickname a hellwig holster, a "hell-rig." but personally i have no experience with them. may i suggest comptac in addition to the other good holsters listed. they look and feel more sturdy than the fobus ones.
  22. mark zeug the organizer from last years event e-mailed me that it would probably be the last weekend in june, stay tuned for more details.
  23. i seem to recall an article in one of the glock annuals where they did some accuracy testing using a ransom rest. of course i can't find it under the stack of gun mags i collected. anybody got that issue handy to settle this question?
  24. i've tried the chip's, wilson's, and ed brown's and none of them gave me any problems. at the range however guys would tell stories of the wilson's metal strip breaking. i witnessed the ed brown one break on another shooter. but they all have good warrantees.
  25. i have the latest limcat holster, and i also bought a "pretty" gun, and after 4 months of use and practice draws, no wear or tear on my plastic trigger guard!
