  1. a friend and i compared chronograph results; same press, dies, powder, cases, and heads, but different primers. wsp vs. fsr. mine (small rifle) made major with a tenth of a grain less powder.
  2. i sure with those two babies he can really clean up a stage!
  3. what i like about them is the drills point out problems we might miss during our usually sub second draws. for those of us without the benefit of a slow motion feature on our cameras/camcorders, they can in increase efficiency of movement and, all importantly in our sport, time. my advise is practice slow before going to light speed, adjust, and repeat.
  4. one minute draws, i 've been told, help with muscle memory, equiptment adjustment, and help refine draw technique. anybody esle try this?

    Punkin Chunkin

now i've heard it all, "competition pumpkins" and "pumpkin cannon" squibs ....what's next? match grade watermelons? btw would those lime treated pumpkins be considered fmj's?

    Punkin Chunkin

now all you have to do is find a holster for it and........
  7. good luck finding some one to ro a stage with you with that blaster! or better yet picking it up if you drop it!!
  8. "i just did not know how restrictive." at least were not as restrictive as greece! hey mistral, let me know if you get a little time between windsurfing for shooting, our club loves to welcome new suck.... i mean, shooters.
  9. the suggestion to start with limited is to refine your technique before making the signifigant financial and time investment on the purchase and learning to shoot another pistol. i'm still in that transition period myself. but if the mood suits you, and if your shooting club will allow it, and you can afford it; why not shoot both? the skills learned in both disiplines would compliment each other.
  10. to have not shot in a while and to STILL be ranked in the top 15% in the GM class on the uspsa website we should all be so lucky. iguess it's time to fill another dumpster for me.
  11. mine get kinda tuff around 16 too, but with a little thumb grease they fit 18-19, and my mag set up is just like yours, with the exception of mag tuning by the wonderfu folks at dawson precision . i love my mags it's too bad i had to have them modified for L-10.
  12. thanks for the feed back now if only my order would get here already.
  13. i cracked open THE BOOK , this evening and re-read a passage where brian notes the ammout of ammo he went through. he made note of how much he shot in matches and in practice in one year. he then this ammount was less than subsequent years, and i was curious whether brian is shooting even less in practice, or "a dumpster full" like the rest of us.
  14. i've shot a mixed bag of once fired brass for test loads in my new limited blaster (even stuff fired from glocks! ) but i'm looking for some "virgin" brass (no one else shoots starline at my range so i don't have to mark them either ), i bought 38 super comp from starline and have ben very satisfied. anybody have experiences, nightmares, or happy ever afters with this brand in 40 s&w? or any other?
  15. nice two tone, i can't what to get my pics on the forum.
  16. no need to stir up the pond, i glad to here the opinions of my fellow shooters. i might argue that the limcat has more points of adjustment though. i'm sure in regard to cant and angle they are very similar, but you can also adjust the locking lever tightness on the LC, and without buying a new holster, you can change the standard black insert for another color to match your blaster, shooting clubs color, or whatever suits your fancy. another little tid bit, the arredondo web site used to sell the limcat holster before they brought out their own design, and still sell the colored inserts for the LC. if thats not testimonial, i don't know.
  17. honestly i have no experience with the arredondo , but i don't think anything will get me to switch from my limcat!
  18. i've had the same sooty mess on my feed ramp, inside the slide, and brass with tg when loaded in 40 s&w at approprimately 170pf. could it be because my oal isn't 1.135 (i seat my bullets at 1.200) so the bullet leaves the case before the powder can completely burn or burn to sufficiently get the "clean" characteristics that have been much touted ? i've also used tg with a 45 with the same messy result, however never to the point of malfunction even after about 500 rounds of 230 gr fmj's at 175 pf. but boy was that gun filthy!

    Accuracy 17 /34

from one 17 owner to another, make the modications mentioned above. if you must have the .75" difference, (i guess some people can't get over size ) than just buy the slide and barrel from glock, inc. and save yourself about $200 and maintain your warranty.
  20. if the wide extended dust cover with an integated light rail is anything like a sti tactical frame, then yes a limcat holster will accomodate your blaster. i have yet to find a 1911-like frame that the limcat cannot tame. just curious your sti socom similar to the one pictured in the latest american handgunner? if so, sweet piece what kind of extended slide release is on it?
  21. would a more narrow passage way (than the one pictured above) prevent the breaking of the 180? that way you couldn't swing your blaster unless you got to a port to engage targets that are safely down range. subsequently the RO behind the shooter has the benefit to knowing where the shooter will pause (or slow for those more skilled than i) at the portal, and then safely retreat to the next portal. the construction material would need to be netting of some sort so that the RO could visually monitor hand and pistol movement if the shooter breaks the plane of the walls. overall lotsa work equals lotsa fun, if done right.
  22. boy duane, you guys sure treat your RO's pretty poorly! dropping them on the ground....dragging them....for shame!
  23. recoil anticipation is a particular nasty habit i picked up from the monthly ritual where my sweetie opens the credit card statement and finds out how much i spent on shooting gear, bullet components, or a new blaster.
