  1. Looks like you were right. Put a couple layers all around and it seems to be fixed now.
  2. Me and a buddy made a kydex pancake holster for my 2011 tactical a couple days ago. After everything was said and done I go to insert a mag and notice it takes more effort to insert and seat than usual. I try to drop the mag and it doesn't move. I believe I have somehow managed to squeeze the plastic grip in with the heat of the kydex and the holster press with clamps. I added 5 layers of painter's tape on the sides of a mag, heating the grip up with a hair dryer through the magwell, inserted the taped mag and let it cool. It seemed to help mags drop free for a couple hours but then, it would return to how it was in the beginning. I guess I should have pressed the kydex with a mag inserted but, alas I didn't. I've got 2 140mm mags and 4 126mm mags that all dropped free before I made the holster. Any ideas on how to get it back to normal? I might just be screwed and have to purchase a new grip.
  3. I stippled over all the stock grip without removing anything. Feels fine to me.
  4. I contacted them and would have to send my pistol to them. Not sure I'm at that point yet.
  5. Looking for a Raven Concealment style holster for a STI 2011 Tactical 4.0. Anyone have any leads? I'm currently using a Garrett Industries holster and while it's nice I prefer straight kydex opposed to leather lined kydex.
  6. Hmmm, go with an in stock Tactical 4" 9mm or wait 8-10 weeks for a Tactical Lite 4" 9mm.
  7. I'll have to make sure to cinch my instructors belt extra tight then
  8. There are threaded barrel and non threaded barrel models of this pistol right?
  9. Yeah I was looking at the Lite version. On y'alls website under lite it says DS lite so wasn't quite sure what model was the right one. Do yall have a model number for Tactical Lite 4" regular barrel in 9mm? Might be easier to search or call people.
  10. Anyone seen one of these in person? Looking at picking one up as I've always wanted a 2011 and I want to carry it too. I've search almost every dealer, gunbroker, gunsamerica ad I could find and haven't turned up much of anything.
  11. I've shot some USPSA at Magnolia a couple years ago. I'll probably shoot there and try a couple other places like Mccomb and Birmingham.
  12. Finally! Although it's pretty rude that they're charging an extra $10 for them. Yea. I ALMOST ordered the finger groove grips from 4wheelguns.com but when I found out Hogue had them in stock I just ordered the no finger groove version.
  13. Probably go Minor for a little bit. Not looking to try to be the best right from the get go. Just to have fun and do something different than most others.
  14. When I emailed last week the 19012 weren't in stock but they had a few 19016 in stock.
  15. Not sure. I don't have any regular grips to compare. Just be warned the part number is for K/L framed revolvers. Not sure of the one for you N frame shooters.
  16. Bought them from Hogue like that. Item number is 19016. Supposedly they are making their regular rubber grip without finger grooves but they didn't have any in stock. Clearance is pretty good. I might shave them down some though just to be sure.
  17. Its getting ready for some USPSA soon. Just need to replace the front sight with a fiber optic and take delivery of a Bladetech DOH. And practice a crapload with the Safariland COMP IIIs.
  18. Just shot my 686SSR the other day and while the grip is comfy and promotes a high hold the top wings of the grip pinched the shit out of the meat between my thumb and finger when shooting. Ordered a Hogue rubber no finger grooved big butt grip. Hopefully it will help.
  19. I leave taking the side plate off for the gunsmiths. EVERYTIME I take off the side plate of any revolver it takes me hours and sometimes money to get put back together. So after 2-3 times fiddling with them even watching video's and having magazines with detailed pictures and still can't get it all back together and functioning I just leave em alone.
  20. Hmmm might have to send you my TS for something similar. Can you also cut the front of the frame but keep the serial number intact?
  21. Cause my CZ's have been utterly reliable straight out of the box and not every 1911 especially ones not in 45 can say that. Plus I like to be different. I still like 1911's but, I prefer them in 45 and 45 is $$$ to shoot.
  22. Is it possible to go from 9mm to 40sw? I doubt it is but, figured I'd ask before assuming anything.
  23. Aye, we have Jujitsu and Kempo as well in my town but, I figured TKD would be better for me and my 8 year old to do together I will probably move on to another martial art once I hit black belt in TKD or I might stick with it and see how many degrees I can churn out.
