  1. Thought I'd sign me and my 8 year old son up for Taekwondo classes. I've always wanted to give it a shot and they say its awesome for young boys who have tons of energy and no outlet. Little background on me.. I'm SUPER lazy and smoke a pack a day or sometimes more. I'm not overweight just, lazy. LOL. First class was this past Tuesday and the Master had decided that day was strenuous workout day rather than Taekwondo day. We'd sit in whats called a horse stance and throw punches, kicks, and blocks. Then after every string he'd have us do 10 push ups, then more kicks and punches then 15 pushups and so forth for an hour. By the end my arms and legs were shaking, I felt like I was gonna die HAHA! I knew I'd be sore but, NOTHING like I am right now. I took my Dad's advice and soaked in a hot tub with Epsom Salt and some Iso-Blu alcohol which helped a bit. The thing that really sucks is we have another hour class today in about 5 hours. Though I do have to say when I was laying on my back staring at the ceiling the workout felt good even though I was spent 100%. I believe I'll keep trying to push myself with this sport and try to kick the smoking habit through training and workouts. The instructor has been instructing since 1977 and is very well known around the south. His name if anyone is wondering is Oliver Miller.
  2. So I was at work one day at a local fun store and this gangbanger walks in and straight up to me. He looks around the counter for a minute and says "Lemme see dat Glock foty" So I pick up a Glock 22 and hand it to him. He procedes to point it this way and that and looks down the sights and turns it sideways and lean waaaay back gangster style with a smile on his face. Now this dude was the ONLY customer in the store at this point so I just had to ask him, "Why do ya'll hold the pistol sideways like that?" Without missing a beat the dude turns to me and says "We hold it like dis coz da sights be gettin in da way of wut we be trying to shoot at" It took every ounce of strength in my body to not bust out laughing right in his face. He proceeded to come back once or twice a week to do the same stances and turning it this way and that. Atleast he had better taste than say a Jennings, Lorcin, or HiPoint. Kind of glad they choose to hold it sideways and shoot with no sights as 99% of them can't hit the broadside of skyscraper.
  3. Weird, a year or two ago places couldn't get rid of em and were on sale for crazy low prices. Now it seems they are harder to find and command extremes. Maybe its a good time to resell hahaha. Though I've ALWAYS wanted an AUG style firearm and I finally have one, I think I'll hang onto mine for now even if I decide to not use it in 3 Gun.
  4. I had a FS2000 and sold it shortly after buying it. Didn't much care for all the plastic FCG parts and what not. I however love my PS90, just wish ammo was cheaper or a 22lr conversion was available.
  5. Stupid stupid stupid. Started looking at ar15's again and found the DPMS 3G1. Ugh. MUST. STAY. AWAY. But gear and accessories are everywhere... no must stay away!
  6. Hadn't thought about that. I assume just one of those magnetic fiber optic vent rib sights?
  7. Was going to post this in the What I Hate forum but, figured it would turn into a discussion more than a rant. I like to shoot a lot but, I like to just blast stuff and practice shooting quickly and accurately and getting into that "Zen" moment when I just use the front sight. I hate when shooting say a bolt action or long shot I just want to throw the sights up and BANG. It is very hard for me to sit still, line up the shot, check my breathing, and slowly pull the trigger. By not being able to do shoot accurately it is very hard for me to also sight in irons, red dots and scopes. I recently got myself tested for ADD and it seems I have it VERY bad and have had it all my life (I'm 29). It affected me in school, at work, and in many hobbies. I usually get the sights "close enough" and call it a day. I know me wanting to do 3 Gun will be a lot of fun but, I worry I won't be able to have the patience and mindset to sit down and tune my rifle in for farther out shots. Anyone else have this problem and hate it as I do?
  8. Been looking for sights for the 1100 Tactical but, was concerned with the vent rib on the barrel. I was thinking of trying the XS Banded front sight with rear sight but, was wondering if the vent rib would be too high and block the front sight? I must have the older style 1100 Tactical because its EXACTLY like the Tac 4 except it has a regular bead sight. Thoughts?
  9. Yeah shooting the rifle left handed with it setup for right handed is recipe for disaster. I buddy shot mine left handed and I didn't think about it and a shell popped him in the lip hard enough to bust it. I've got an OLD post ban bushmaster ar15 that I might try to find an upper for. Gear and accessories would be a lot better haha.
  10. Anyone else shoot a STG556 (not E4) in 3Gun? Ar15's are good and all but, I like to be different. Was just wondering what you use for mag pouches for the STG556 mags. I currently run an older style Aimpoint on mine but, was thinking of trying to find one of the MSAR 1.5x scopes. Lemme know how it runs for you.
  11. I got ahold of him and he said he makes speedloader pouches as well.. Have you used any of his pouches?
  12. Thanks for everyones replies. I emailed Doug asking him about his holsters.
  13. Sounds to me like they chose what they wanted to shoot and that they should either stick with it or choose something else. They are all scored differently so I don't see how it could work at all without offending someone. Open would compete against Open, Limited against Limited, and Production against Production. The ONLY way you could maybe handicap anything is if you brought all mag caps to 10 rounds .. but, I'd be mad if I had spent a lot of money on an open or limited gun only to be told I could only shoot with 10rd mags. After investing money in mag bodies, springs, followers, and base pads the open and limited guys have a LOT more invested then a mere Glock or Beretta mag.
  14. Was wondering if anyone has heard or is starting to come up with magwells, extended baseplates, etc for the M&P series pistols. I'd have to say if it could get a following started like the Glocks have now it would be great.
  15. Looking to get into some IDPA action and have been looking at this revolver. Anyway, I've found 2 holsters that I like. Blade-tech Tek-Lok and the Safariland 561. Anyway they both offer the holster in 686 4" L frame which is what the 686 SSR is.. what i'm wonder is if the different barrel profile will affect if the revolver will seat nicely in these holsters. Or if I need to start looking for a holster manufacturer that made a holster for this particular model. Thoughts?
  16. I guess i'll be having plenty of time to practice during the winter. Kinda got back into it at the wrong time but, i've got my own range to practice at
  17. The grips and magwell give the gun a better look and a much better feel.
  18. But, its been over 2 years since i've competed. And then I only shot 3 matches. Anyway, I am getting back into the sport of USPSA and bought me a new gun to blast with. I had previously shot production with a Beretta Elite II 9mm.. then switched to a G35 limited gun which I had to sell before I had a chance to shoot a match. Here's my new blaster. It is a CZ75 Tactical Sports in 9mm (gonna shoot limited just for fun) with CZ Short Thin Aluminum Grips and a CZ Aluminum Magwell. Will be adding Ghost Aluminum Base Pads to the mags as well. The gun will be holstered in a Ghost holster and will be using Ghost Mag Pouches as well. Enjoy.
