  1. Ok this sound dumb, why in the world would you have to shoot to slide lock? It would make more sense to change the mag when it no longer has rounds in it, not at slide lock. So, what you guys are saying, if the mag has no rounds (it has fed the last round) and you change mags and the mag you are dumping is empty of rounds then you still have to retain it? What is tactical about that? That makes no sense to me if I am understanding it correctly.
  2. So, how was the barrel fit? Seems like you might have gotten lucky to with a PI gun also. Nice group!
  3. I have a customer who needs a good FFL in Reno for his Spartan purchase Thanks guys ~ Scott
  4. If you want me to swap out the fixed for adjustables, let me know. I think I was shooting the 185's.
  5. Are you guys seriously not touching your bores? Seriously. None of my pistols barrels get cleaned with anything other that bullets. Got tired of doing it and found no benefits of cleaning it. Any brand barrel, any pistol.
  6. I would stick with the Glock over Para if you are going to shoot both L and P.
  7. Joe, sorry to burst your bubble, but I checked both the Spartan's I got in the shop and the fit was pretty dang good. They passed all the checks. Sorry to say, but they were actually better fit than the Springfield Trophy Match I was working on today. Mine take down just fine so I have no idea what diffculty he is having. Sorry to have to share this news, it sounds like you want them to be POS, mine aren't. I have 4 more coming next week so I'll check them out also.
  8. I don't see how Novak is going to get 16+1 in the .40 maybe 15 +1. I do XD's every day and it is not the best choice for limited IMO. If/when they make the .40 on the .45 frame, then you will have an XD to shoot limited in. Until then, the G35 is the cheap way to go.
  9. No need to call once I got mine and test fired them All the convincing I needed. Now they just need to release a 9mm version...
  10. If you want to work my hours, I'll gladly adopt you I have lots of gruel and a tent I can set you up in That's probably what I'll do, 10 of each.
  11. With all the divisions, I still don't get the need for SS, but I guess now I'll have a rig for it, though I doubt I would shoot it.
  12. Like, I posted earlier listen to Rich. My experience has been the same, and who has done more XD's than Rich? I doubt I'm even close to his volume, and I'm doing them every day. It amazes me that at least half the people who advocate the lighter springs (because they use them in their 1911's) have no idea how the 1911 works or how the XD is different, since "you can use the same spring."
  13. Thanks! That's what I need to know. Sounds like 8's it is. More is better Now just to figure what breed, leaning toward the Wilson's, but I might go with some Tripps also. I hate that I love to test some times.
  14. LOL, why use a file and stone when you have a dremel "handy."
  15. I ordered two, not because I needed two but to check the consistancy. They are as much alike as I've seen. I haven't had the chance to mic out parts, but the fit, finish, and performance are virtually identical. Either I got lucky or someone is putting some effort into these.
  16. I have a nice .40 for that, but it has an "evil" bull barrel, so no good for IPDA I've been told. I have a couple Wilson 8's already and they have always worked fine. I have until April to figure it out, but I thought I'd ask the IDPAers, since I will be joining the fray since we have a guy to run it here now. I'm working 12-14 hours a day, so I get the good stuff and would just rather order 10 of one kind, maybe 20 since the SS mags are so cheap. I'd rather load mags in the warmth of the house and not have to worry about cleaning them at a match. I'll be using my STI Spartan for the IDPA game, if it keeps shooting the way it has.
  17. Not interested in downloading tens, have tons of those already. Is it better to get some 7's and some 8's?
  18. Well, here is my reasoning, FWIW. My limited gun is over 3K. Tryinf to get new folks into the game, and past the sticker shock of what I use, it is nice to have products available that you can say here you go, that are reasonably priced. Of course tweaking the trigger isn't a big deal, but I have to charge for that, and that adds cost. So, having some products out there that are half the price of the nicer Kimbers, SA's, ect and shoot reasonably well is a good thing IMO. That is says STI on the slide doesn't matter to me one bit, that it might allow new folks to try something they might really like does. At that price for me, it will be a great loaner gun.
  19. At 18 yards I strung my first 5 shots in one ragged line, bone stock, no tweaking. Maybe I got lucky, but it cleaned the plate rack from 10, 15 and 20 yards. That is good enough for me, especially for the price. It was a 3" to the left on sight in. I'll give you the chrome barrel isn't my preference, but it seems to shoot. I don't have many round through this, The sights aren't refined, but they seem to work and the trigger is by far better than anything I've seen on an factory STI in awhile.
  20. I've rebuilt a few Springfield 9's lately and the need some basic work but are pretty nice. Fire controls could use replacing in BOTH IMO. My last name is Springer so I might be partial to Springfield I have a Springfield 9mm that will be headed to CA soon and just sent a Kimber .45 down there last month. The Kimber was fine after refitting the fire control parts and reworking the internals.
