  1. Try to sell that to Dave Sevigny... It is a red herring and imposble to make fair as different guns will measure out differently using the current trigger measuring technique. How would that work with a Glock, XD, or other striker fired guns? Hmmm.
  2. Not a good thing for production. Measuring it is going to be a nightmare for match staff.
  3. Melt both ends with a lighter is a standard method...
  4. I think my dad had some of those heaters. I think Patrick McManus wrote about them one, but that might take awhile to find, although it would be fun reading. This is the type I think you are talking about http://cgi.ebay.com/VINTAGE-COMPAC-POCKET-...tem140065717694
  5. Like Angus and Eric, he taught not doing it that way. As long as you are not moving the gun around shouldn't be a problem. If you want to stop it, put some grip tape up there so you can feel when you do it.
  6. I generally use the CR for that frame, but I made a new gun and just popped it in, not thinking that it might not come out.
  7. Do not try putting a Caspian Hi-cap in the Ghost Hoster made for the SVI... Ok I thought it would be OK, but 20 minutes later, I got it out Live and learn.
  8. Nice comp, as usual, but I think repositioning the mag pouch might balance it a bit. I like the angle of the holster and AR.
  9. Both GSP and Silva made Hughes and Franklin looks like punks. I think Chuck is smarter than Tito, but in this sport it only takes one mistake to win or lose.

Flip a coin, forecast don't mean much in the Cascades this time of year, weather can come in quick. (I live at the base of them.)

Amen, been there done that. Almost died 200 feet off the top of a summit after summiting. Getting caught in a winter storm is serious stuff, cave or not, it isn't pretty.
  12. I have a mill and plenty of aluminum...

Nice job Rich! Mike, those manual handles are great for the arms
  14. Glad to hear she's ok, too bad about the house. 140 mile per hour winds on Mt Hood not good weather for finding lost hikers.

  19. The magic question. I hear you getting them for shooting faster than the RO's or course designer and by wearing a sponsored shooting shirt at the nationals... (putting flame proof suit on.) I only hope that IDPA is more objective than many have suggested. Subjective sports (ala ice skating) are too frustrating for my tastes.
  20. Acutally the SS thread was an IDPA thread in "stealth" mode... I wanted to get my ducks in a row so I don't get too many FTDR's when we start shooting it in April.
  21. OK, so it's just a rule to make it easier on the RO's. I always thought a "tactical" reload would be one to get more ammo in the gun the fastest, but it appers to be a marketing thing.
  22. L2S, you have to think IDPA rules, which contrast greatly to USPSA freestyle. If you leave a round in the chamber you must perform a tactical reload whereby you retain your otherwise empty mag (say in your vest pocket). It is exponentially faster to shoot to slide-lock and reload than bother with retaining the magazine. Ok, I understand the rule I think, but why would that type of reload be considered "tactical"? It seems quite silly to pocket an empty mag, and "silly" is the PC word I can use on the forum.
