  1. Mine were terrible. He did offer to replace them, but I never bothered to take him up on the offer. He said he was working on a new polymer. I thought the shape and texture were great. But the back didnt fit flush against the frame...I never could get them tight enough. They didnt just crack, the screws broke thru the grip. Like I said, he offered to replace them, totally stand up guy. I might try them again sometime.
  2. So, we've arranged a cheap place to drink within walking distance of the match hotel. Joe's Grill and Cantina is just across 74th street from the hotel. They've given us 15% off coupons to put in your match book. They're a local place and I thought it was darn nice of them. So, go over and have tacos and beers...lots of them if you're shooting B Production.
  3. This time of year, when it rains, its just enough to stir up the dust.
  4. With crapiscore squadding, you cant see what Division or Class people are shooting. So unless you predetermined it, you will have a hard time putting together an SS squad. Looks like everythings just about full, so its hard to squad-hop.
  5. I'm not officially part of the match staff, but I have been meddling with prize aquisition. My job has been to get some extra prizes to fill out the table. I have prizes on the way from: Smith Elite Optics Arc'teryx Streamlight Vertx DAC Tecnology Salomon and today I received this beautiful prize from Suunto: http://www.suunto.com/en-US/Products/Sports-Watches/Suunto-Ambit2/Suunto-Ambit2-Sapphire/
  6. I disagree completely with this assessment. Every part of it. Care to try an explain? Chris seemed to hit the nail on the head exactly .... I assume you mean this as an insult. Thats more sophomoric than anything I've said. .... If I think that we already have too many Divisions and we already have a place for any gun that doesnt fit into a specific existing Division, I'm being ridiculous and insulting? I've been in this thread from the beginning, I've stated my opinion. Open isnt a platform. It is the place where all platforms can be used. Thats not an insinuation. Some people get it backwards and think that there should be a Division for every little different setup. I dont believe I lack reasoning skills, or that I have sophomoric understanding of the issue. I simply am not liberal enough to want to change things to accomodate every subsection of shooters. I disagree with both of the justifications that have been promoted in this thread. Thats all.
  7. I disagree completely with this assessment. Every part of it.
  8. Salomon just gave us a bunch of shoes for the Area 4 prize table. Their sister company, Suunto, also provided a nice prize.
  9. Simple. He is sandbagging to prevent being moved up to a higher class. He'd rather place higher in a lower class and nab a trophy, or maybe even a prize.
  10. Haven't we always enjoyed the reputation of pushing the envelope? Why does everyone want to weigh It down and saddle an experiment with all kinds of rules.? KISS Leave it in a Division that is 'open' to virtually all modifications and performance benefits...no worries about weight, milling, etc. We already have that, it's called Open. It's strange that people want to explore the 'advancement' of technology, like red dot sights, but want to restrict any other performance advancement, like frame mounted dots and race holsters...or for that matter, porting, comps, magwells, etc. We already have a Division that allows a 'limited' amount of modification. You think I'm narrow minded because I dont want another marginal Division, but you want a whole new Division for an incremental change. To me, thats myopic. Building an entire Division around one little specific feature, like a dot, is hardly "pushing the envelope" Yes. Absolutely.
  11. Want to address the guns that most people actually carry? Then I guess we really need a J-frame & LCP Division. There's a hell of lot more of those out there than red dotted production guns. All these guns are already in Open and dont meet the criteria to be divided out into other Divisions, so they stay in Open. It seems odd that people want to advance technology, but dont want frame mounted optics, because they would then need more advanced (race) holsters. They dont want advanced technology like compensators, or mag wells, because, gosh darn it, just because. What they really want is a subsection of a Division. They want the pie sliced into smaller pieces. Marginalizing the Divisions does not make the field stronger. Its like those guys that show up for autocross in a minivan. You dont get a special trophy for a 10K because you wore cowboy boots instead of running shoes.
  12. Sounds like it would be a good division for IDPA. This.
  13. So according to Manny, this is a Production gun ?? 10557258_787696841250711_9068922130615123751_n.jpg That is a production gun. But it is not a Production gun. It has numerous improvements that would make it legal only in Open.
  14. Wow, thats a true blue lying cheating scumbag bastard. Its an obvious case of unsportsman like conduct and a basis for a DQ.
  15. Why not? To use one of your arguments for creating the division -- flashlights and lasers are perfectly acceptable on "house guns." Perhaps more so than a red dot sight..... Exactly. And so are full-cap and extended mags...and ports or comps too.
  16. Its Open. Its not called the Race Gun Division, or the Thousands of Dollars Just Sitting Around Division. Every gun in the match can be shot in Open. Some guns, if they meet some simple criteria, can be divided out into Divisions. If you want to use an optic, then Open is your only choice. You also have the option of using a comp, big stick magazines, race holsters, etc. If you choose not to use any and every equipment advantage that is legal in your Division, thats your choice. Ok, I respect you opinion! Is your line of thinking going to grow the sport to its fullest potential? Ok, make no mistake, it is strictly my opinion. Yes, I believe it is better/healthier for our sport to have fewer Divisions and have them more populated rather than a bunch of incremental Divisions with small fields. I dont think ProdOpts is going to fill up a Division. It'll be a side note like L10 or Revo (which I think should go away, but thats a whole 'nuther subject) I dont believe that it will help the sport grow. Work gets in the way of the important stuff. My position continues to be that we need fewer Divisions, not more. Do we need a Division for every little variation of every type of gun? Nope. I think the Divisions we have are more than adequate. Every red-blooded American owns at least one J-frame...do we need a Division for snubbies? No.

  18. Thats what Trojans do, although its more common in .40 Its the feedwall, it needs to be re-cut into a feedramp. A different bullet profile might help too.
  19. The A4 Director announced all of the above (with exception of the members resignation) via direct email last week. If your AD didnt disburse the info to his Area membership, then complain directly to them...and vote them out of office. Are you saying all the ADs got an email about this situation? Are you sure about it? No thats not what I'm saying at all. I said that the A4D sent an email about it to inform the Area 4 members. Any AD that didnt do something similar, failed in their duties. Ok, if the A4D announced it, where did he get the info from? Was he going off of hearsay at the time or did he receive an official correspondence from within the organization? I just want to know how much was given to the ADs (mainly the A6D) and how much was put out before I start complaining to him. Thanks I guess I dont understand what you're picking at. "From within the organization" would mean the Board of Directors...the board is comprised of the Area Directors. The Director for A4 was just relaying to his membership what the board had done so far. Simple as that, I would expect every Area Director to do the same. This has been published on every forum already, but here is that message to the members: (Please cascade this to your respective mailing lists.) As many of you know, an RO from Area 6 has been accused of cheating by adjusting times. The public outcry on several forums and in social media outlets has been loud, profane, and vehement. I can understand the indignation at allegations like this, and the evidence, on the face of it, is damning. Rest assured that the USPSA Board of Directors is working the issue, and in fact we were aware of the problem a day or two ahead of the news breaking on the internet. Here is a statement from USPSA's Area 1 Director, Chuck Anderson, who has been charged with investigating the allegations: I just got approval from the BOD to do the actual investigation into the questions regarding Paul Hendrix cheating as a range official for USPSA. If anyone has videos, names info whatever, please email them to me at area1@uspsa.org. If you're not comfortable sending it to a USPSA server email it to my personal account at chuck@andersontactical.com. I need the video, native video ideal but I'll take FB or YouTube links if it's not available, and as much info as you can give, shooter name and number, match and stage it came from. I could also use the name and email of the person sending the info to me. If you don't want to give it I understand, but it's going to be prioritized lower than info that comes in with a name associated. I'm going to busy and won't be able to hunt it down spread across FaceBook and various forums. Edit to add: One other piece of information that would help is if you know what device captured the video. i.e. GoPro, Tachyon, iPhone etc. Thanks, Chuck Anderson USPSA Area 1 Director I have confidence that Chuck will examine the evidence thoroughly and fairly. As more information becomes available, I will communicate it to you via email. Regards, Troy McManus USPSA Area 4 Director
