  1. Mine is a 24" barrel and with IC choke it is accurate with B&P slugs - Shoots point of aim.
  2. Should have mentioned, I am in New Zealand. There are a couple of options here, and this caught my eye as it is available and looks to be OK. So I am looking for someone who has had some experience with these. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  3. Thanks. Unfortunately I don't live in the US, so I am a little limited in my options. These rifles are available and also at quite an attractive price point. Therefore I am interested if it is worth it, or whether to just pass on by.
  4. HI, I am looking at getting a rifle for 3 Gun and Multi Gun. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with the CMMG Mk4 RCE? http://www.cmmginc.com/category_s/1906.htm Any opinion on accuracy, suitability for 3 Gun etc? Thanks!
  5. Thanks! It gives me a starting point. Cheers
  6. Hi, A friend has 8lb of WSL (unopened) that he has had for ages. I had a bit of a search, and could not find a lot of information on using WSL for making Major with 180s. However I did find some information on it by Jeff Maass. I was wondering if you could help shed some light on this powder. 1 - Is it a suitable powder to use for making Major (Loaded long 1.185) 2 - Is it temperature sensitive/reverse sensitive? 3 - What does the recoil feel like? 4 - Is is a clean/dirty powder? Any other information about it would be greatly appreciated. Cheers,
  7. Really nice optic! If I decide to go to Open, I would love one of these!
  8. I have been using them for quite a few years. Never had any issues and would recommend them. I would not use anything below a 17lb main spring. I tried using a 15lb main spring and had problems setting them off. However never had any issues with a 17lb or higher.
  9. I am using Clays too. 4.45 gr at 1.195 OAL with 180 Gr projectiles.(Coated Lead). 173 PF. Soft shooting and accurate.
  10. Yes - Pinned grip safety is fine in IPSC, as long as the thumb safety is fully functional.
  11. I load on a SDB and the handle has never caused me any issues. Have been using it for the last 5+ years and thousands of rounds later :-)
  12. I use a Dillon case gauge. So far I have had no issues, lengths up to 1.195 was fine.
  13. This was great fun! managed to take up most of an hour :-)
  14. I use an 17lbs Main spring and 12.5lbs recoil spring. I have changed from an 11lbs recoil spring to 12.5lbs as the sights track better. Don't have any issues with setting off primers, however I do use an extended FP. PF of 175.
  15. I try to keep enough ammo for about 2-3 months worth of practice. For matches, I will do a batch load. Usually slightly more than double the match round count.
  16. Thanks for the replies! I will play around with it and see how it goes. Cold mornings may be an issue so I will definitely do some testing on different days to see how it behaves. Hopefully the velocity changes are not too bad. Cheers!
  17. Hi, I did a search, and have not quite been able to find the answer - maybe my search fu is weak today. Is Win 231 temperature sensitive? If yes, can you please advise in which way ie: faster when colder? I am currently using Titegroup, but are looking at Win 231 as a replacement, since TG runs a bit hot for my liking. Thanks!
  18. Hi, This past weekend I had the chance to be squadded with KC for a 2 day shoot and then followed up with a 2 day class. All I can say is WOW! The experience was worth it in every way. KC is a great shooter and incredibly funny as well. During the shoot he was more than willing to share his knowledge and happy to answer any questions. We all had a blast during the shoot. The training class delivered more that I could have asked for. KC has a wealth of knowledge to share and knows how to deliver it. Each one of us in the class got the individual attention we deserved and came away from the class much more knowledgable. Everything was explained very clearly as well as the reasons why he uses it. This will help my shooting and I have already noticed an improvement with my dry fire routine. This was an experience that I enjoyed and would recommend to anyone. It was one of my most enjoyable experiences!
  19. Thanks! That is an interesting list. I really like 2 and 8. I will have to think about #8 as it is an interesting way to think about it.
  20. I have a plain black rear and front sights. I played around with FO front sights, but found I was more accurate with plain black. I once had a look at a rear sight with FO, but found it very distracting.
  21. Welcome! Lots of good info here. As a bonus everyone is very helpful
  22. It was a productive session and I felt really good afterwards. Having a breakthrough like this, just feeds the hunger to experiment and learn more.
  23. Hope this is in the right forum - Mods feel free to move if better suited elsewhere. THe other day I was going to do some training, but due to other commitments only got to the range quite late in the day. It turned out to be a blessing. As the light was fading, it became more and more difficult to see hits on the paper targets. I do get lazy and sometimes look at the targets to see if the hits are there However with the fading light, it forced me to pay attention to the sights (shooting limited), and call my shots. It turned out to be a confidence booster, knowing that I had to rely on calling the shots, and knowing where it went. It turned out to be a very satisfying and rewarding session. In the end I got more from the practice session, than if I got to the range earlier!
