  1. I bought a new 75B in 2004 and it did this, but I was using some slightly hot Barnaul ammo. I don't know the cause, but the problem seemed to go away after a while. I'm sure if you asked Angus on the CZ Forum, he could tell you. I'll see what my czource says next time I talk to him.

These guys with the problem are saying the trigger is actually snapping 'forward' slightly to hit the trigger finger. One of the guys put on the 85 trigger and nothing changed. The reset doesn't or shouldn't cause a hit from behind the trigger.

I shoot the 9mm 75B, and even when factory new and after a lot of changes, there was never any forced movement of the trigger forward or backwards.

  2. I ~think~ I preferred the feel of my .40 Limited unlightened. I had Rich at CC do the "coffin cuts"..I think they took out about 1oz. I am running a 12lb. spring now. It feels very quick/harsh, more so than with a stock slide. I agree that it depends on what power factor ammo you are going to be running through it. My 9mm match with a stock slide feels so sluggish I bumped the ammo from 130 to 137 PF running an 8lb spring.

Did you have to change your spring to a lighter or heavier spring after having your slide lightened?

Also curiosity question about slide lightening:If the objective is truly slide lightening and not cosmetic, and lighter is better, isn't there a lot more mass the can be removed by taking away material behind the breech, near the rear sight? Or why not remove as much from the front of the slide ahead of the lugs and something the looks like the Beretta slide?

  3. Solo 1000 seems to have a good reputation for use with lead and moly. Just buy it in larger batches since it does have a bit of lot to lot variation. I get 8 lbs at a time.

Which powder creates the least amount of smoke and the cleanest in terms of residual. I plan on loading hard casts, and I know there is a certain amount of smake that is going to be generated form the lead and lube. Thanks, Wayne

  4. Same mag size, but there are external differences. The Limited models have the front and back grip area checkered, square trigger guard, and the bottom of the frame is different. Most of the guns imported by EAA are the "Large frame" variety, but in Europe they offer "small frame" guns, too.

    different frames with different magazines?

  5. Marschal light weight grips, 10 round mags, replacing the stock recoil spring, and the flush 75b spring plug should get an SP-01 under 39oz. I am running original 19round mags in an '06 3 slot gun, and make weight with those things done. The 10 rnd makes are a good bit lighter than the 19 rnd mags. As the previous poster said, you could go for a Phantom, but I would go with a 75SA or 85 Combat if shooting just ESP.

  6. Looks like a longslide model, a holster for a Witness Match might work, but the trigger guard is different. I don't think a 75 holster would work well due to the longer Tango barrel.

I have a 90' Tanfo small frame 9mm I'd like to shoot in Production. Problem is I can't find any holsters. I suspect the one for a CZ75 will fit but I don't want to drop $$ for a holster that might not fit. Anybody have a take on this? Picture attached.

  7. Save your $30...people have tried the 38 Super Mec-gar mags before and they won't work for 9mm. The mag body is just not shaped right. The new style mags will someday be more available, but who knows when..I can get 14 to work without too much trouble, but most of the time I'm loading 11 at the most for IDPA. I've read about someone using a 38 super sizing die before sizing with 9mm die to help out mag feeding. Someone has also used a small frame mag follower. There are several threads that have info in them....

  8. Frank Garcia is using a small frame Stock 2. I talked with him at the US IPSC Nationals where he was running it...piqued my curiosity because I thought he was running a large frame gun, and perhaps had some of the new style 9mm mags that I wanted to look at..

from what I have read and been told, and also experience (I have two small frame 9mm stock 2's, and 1 large frame .40) the small frame 9mm rocks compared to the large frame 9mm. The mags need no fiddle-faddle....they just work. I find the grip is slightly better, as in slightly smaller. I wonder what Frank Garcia is using?,....a large frame or small frame 9mm for his production gun?

  9. Just make sure that if you install one, that it is not too tight of a fit. I had to run an EGW pin because the titefit pin caused some interference at the point in the barrel "kidney" where it changes angles. It was fine in my other Tanfo, so my gun may be at the edge of specs.

I gather if you want to use the Tite Fit Slide Pin you have to punch out the old pin from the slide stop with a pin punch ? If so how is the new pin located correctly so it meshes into the right place ? Thanks in advance.

  10. I was thinking... yes, that's dangerous. I know of a local club with a few members interested in putting on USPSA matches, but are not ready to commit the time and energy to put on the 8 matches required per year. I thought, how great would it be to get 2 or 3 clubs together to have USPSA matches at the respective ranges, rotating monthly so the same crew doesn't have to do the set up. My current club ran a few matches several years ago, but it was too much for the match director who was neck deep in IDPA at the time, too. I know I don't want to make ANOTHER hobby into work, but if helping to set up only 3 or 4 matches a year would get another local USPSA match, that might give me some incentive. Are there any clubs out there doing this?
