Might have to agree to disagree on this one. But I've heard legal used many, many times in regards to shooting competitions. Is this comp legal in tac optics? Is this holster legal for Production? Is it legal to disable the grip safety on my 1911 in Single Stack? Since I doubt any of those people think they are going to jail over a rules violation it seems they are asking if it is legal in the sense of definition two, not whether it's a crime or not. I think you have some preconceived notions regarding the usage of the word. Just because those are your perceptions does not define common usage. Nor do my perceptions. But, to your last example of an RO yelling, "Illegal!" for stepping out of a box. I would hope that no RO would be yelling at competitors. But have you ever asked an RO if you could shoot over or under a wall and had them say it's not legal to do so? If you haven't had that, or something similar, you really do need to get out and shoot more. -

Looks like we crossed posts. You do realize that a valid definition of illegal is the second part, "2: not allowed per the rules in a game." which seems like exactly what you are saying it is. So how is illegal not valid, when that is exactly what you are saying it is? Just because you have a preconceived notion of what a word means, does not mean that is the correct or only definition. -

Ouch. Definition 2. But I also wouldn't waste my money on one because that's the type of stuff that ATF randomly changes their minds on and makes it illegal under definition 1 as well. Always interesting when enforcement agencies are given the authority to determine what the law is they enforce. -

Illegal under the rules of a game, not criminal code. -

I think it's illegal, but that's because it's against the rules. Not because I helped write the rule book. -

No...just no. If this is what you took from the class you need to go back and retake it. -
2016 USPSA Multigun Nationals

Desert Sportsman is kicking us out. They are shutting down the bays USPSA helped build where stages 9-12 were located at to put in another rifle bay. It'll be awhile before we go back to DS. But it'll probably happen. They booted us in the early 2000's also. Mike said they have a range in mind but want to wait until there is a signed contract before announcing it. Seemed like a really good idea to me. -

I would love an RPR in .223 that accepted AR mags. Be much cheaper to train on than my 6.5 -

Chuck, it maybe easier to understand, but it doesn't make much sense to have the same number of points for stage you shoot in 3 seconds and for stage you shoot in 80 seconds. You shot 3sec stage for a 0.5 second slower and you already lost 25 points for the match. Fortunately most quality 3 Gun matches don't have stages that are only three seconds. That would be ridiculous and a complete waste to call it a stage. Any MD that put a 3 second stage in a match and actually called it a stage should be ashamed. -
As usual from this guy it's not the whole truth. It's not even the whole truth he posted on Doodie. The email he posted a snippet of above is quite a bit longer and he (maybe) posted the whole thing on another site. When he didn't get the expected response it came here. Simply a lie of omission. It's like saying I was DQ'd by a club for running with a gun in my hand. When the truth is I ran with a gun in my hand with my finger on the trigger, and had an AD that hit the RO. Is the first technically true? Sure. Is it anywhere near the actual truth? No. If I had any doubt this guy shouldn't be allowed on a range before (and I did have doubt about that decision) this took that doubt away.

It's been 100 points since before Practiscore, iPads and even iPhones even existed. It's based on 100 percent which makes it easier to understand the numbers. Ft Benning experimented with different values (and I'm sure other) around 2006. Didn't really fix much. -

No flags. But with each shot you could see the dust kick up. The down side was that was only the wind at the point of impact. I walked down to the targets on Thursday and you could feel the wind change on the walk based on the shape of the bay. There were definitely some inequities in this match because of the wind. Not match staffs fault. They did a great job. Just the way it goes sometimes. -

The winds were really bad on that stage. Well all stages. But that was the long range one. If they died or were consistent it wasn't too bad. But I know mid stage for me the wind changed directions. You shot the targets from two positions. I had to completely change my hold to the opposite side between positions. I'm betting something similar happened to Daniel. -
You also have a significant portion of people who fly to these matches. Makes it a little more difficult to buy at the match then have to figure out how to get it home. If there are 6 though that's more than most matches I've been to in awhile.

Just talked to JJ Racaza tonight. He will be out there with Magnus Sports and Safariland. He was packing up a bunch of stuff from the shop tonight to bring out.
