  1. Interesting, when we had our walk through they said a shooter had shot the dummy in the leg after putting it on the pad and that there would be a penalty for shooting the dummy.
  2. I think a box stock division would do more harm than good for attracting shooters. How many shooters come out that already have grip tape, or aftermarket sights, or grip plugs, or some kind of aftermarket trigger of some sort. A LOT of new shooters that I see have some kind of modification to their gun before they show up. Not all but a lot. I can imagine the new shooter showing up with his duty gun, or his carry gun only to find out that it's illegal because of the extremely limited mods he did to it. I know it would probably be my last match.
  3. I doubt it's possible to leave the decision of trigger travel up to the RO, or Chrono Guy. I've handled about 400 Glocks, most brand new, some a couple years old, LE duty guns that are box stock and high end competition Glocks. I doubt there is a single one that had the same trigger feel. They all feel a little different. Some even feel like the trigger travels a shorter distance than others. Don't know if they actually do or not, it just feels that way. And that's the problem. I'm not going to leave the outcome of my match, (Open or Production) in the hands of an RO or Chrono guy that only handles them for a brief time. I even got stopped by a Nationals RO to check the position of my holster after the LAMR command. It wasn't even close, he just didn't know the rules.
  4. I just plugged the same dates into Orbitz and got a bunch of hotels with rooms avail and prices starting in the $60.00 range. Where were you staying in Tulsa for 10-20 a night? I thought those rooms normally charged by the hour.
  5. Missoula had plenty of hotel space for the Area 1 a couple years ago, I don't think they'll have any problems with the competitors for a Nationals. There are plenty of restaraunts, and of course, Big Sky Brewing, maker of Moose Drool beer. There's no difference flying in for this match than there was flying in for Missoula or Bend. There are several clubs in the US that are capable of hosting a Nationals, the question is whether the clubs want to.
  6. The modifications are to comply with a military contract for a new pistol. It requires the option of a manual safety, as well as some other stuff. There are a lot of companies competing for the contract. I'm guessing that Glock will make any decision whether to produce the gun based on the outcome of the contract.
  7. I've got one in my GSSF 17. It's nice for that because he uses Glock parts so it's legal. Other than for GSSF though it's kind of expensive.
  8. For anyone that didn't actually open the application link above the deadline is changed to December 15th for entries with the lottery on December 18th.
  9. I doubt you can get access to any financial information before the decision has been made. I know the government doesn't post contract bids before the bid period is closed. I also know that there is a LOT of information that never becomes public. I think alot of this information is what Rob is talking about. It's just not feasible for USPSA to post every bit of financial information, or info about member or employee discipline, and could very well leave them open to civil liability. Admittedly, the BOD minutes are very inadequate. It seems unless you specifically talk to your AD you won't know how he feels about an issue. I know that Bruce has been very open, answered every question that I had and I know where he stands on issues that are important to me. We don't always agree but I know that he can back his position with a logical argument. (he's wrong of course but that's his problem) I think until someone actually goes to a BOD meeting, and tells us how much info is talked about outside of Exec Sesssion, we really need to put a hold on this.
  10. If you miss registration you gotta be there before the crack of dawn on Friday. (literally, shooting starts at the crack of dawn)
  11. I'm not surprised the BOD doesn't post their "evidence". It's not a court and frankly, if I'm getting kicked out, I really don't want the other 15,000 members to know what an idiot I was. (not speaking for anyone else, but I'm sure if they kick me out, it'll be because I did something really wrong). I know of one person that was kicked out of USPSA. Part of the reason was that he was kicked out of a local club (for a number of reasons) and instead of shooting at a number of other clubs that would have him, he called in a fake bomb threat to the range during the middle of a big match. He was arrested and convicted and then kicked out. That to me is a person that I don't think has a place in USPSA.
  12. It's happened at least a few times that I'm aware of in the last couple years. So far no one that I know that has been kicked out is someone that I want to shoot with anyway. Of course your experience may differ.
  13. Opening page, left side row of buttons. Says "USPSA Forums". I see, but I always go in through the Members site and I can't seem to find it there.
  14. Probably because for some reason the link, if there is one on the USPSA site, to the USPSA Forum is impossible to find. I don't know why USPSA makes it so hard to find their forum.
  15. Holy crap, the stages are up and this looks like a great three gun match. I can't wait to go.
  16. Jeez Eric, I never realized there were this many people that hated you on the Forum. I can't imagine anyone wanting to step into the president position and have to deal with the BOD and try to make all the members happy.
  17. Yep it was and we were told that it wasn't available and never would be. By the folks displaying that particular model.
  18. Mike McCarter from Albany is throwing his hat in the ring for President. Mike is the driving force behind the Columbia Cascade Junior Program and a good friend. I believe Larry Houck also said he was going to run. I don't know him as well.
  19. Any idea what happened to the West Coast Dual Champ.? I was looking forward to that again.
  20. For the same reason we don't know this time every year. The contracts aren't signed by the clubs that are going to host them. The way it works is all Area matches are scheduled, then Nationals is picked to conflict with one or more of them. Otherwise everything would run smoothly and no one would be able to complain on the internet.
  21. What are you talking about? According to French, German and other Euro shooters the CZ85 Combat II was freely available in Europe before the world shoot. Sorry, I was basing that on what the CZ factory rep at the World Shoot told me. He said that it was a recent model and that CZ wasn't planning on manufacturing it. He said that the Combat II was only created to get around the issue of the SP-01 being illegal, and that now that it wasn't that it wouldn't be produced.
  22. Because the BOD can't decide what that is. Some of the AD's think it should be one thing, other think it should be another. I doubt anybody sat down and said, "This is what Production should be." when it was started. As a result we have everyone with their own opinion.
  23. Because my understanding, and of course it could be flawed, is that the NROI enforces the rules and the BOD creates them. Kind of like the legislative and executive branch. It's like asking a cop what the intent behind a law is. You'll get his opinion but it's not from the people who made the law.
