  1. Im gonna put in my .02. This match has great potential. Did it have first year problems??? Absolutely!!!! What match doesn't? Did I hate the trap skeet and sporting clays??? Yep! Am I mad because they didn't tell us we were doing that in advance?? No way! That's what I love about shooting matches. You have to be very well-rounded in your skills to compete at this level. As far as the RO problems go, All you have to do is do it like Joe Harris does at the Benelli shotgun match, Run 10 stages a day with static RO's. If you haven't been to this complex you're missing out. The main gripe I have is the way the scoring was done. If you're going to put it in the book you have to stick to it. You can't let outside influences change the way you score the match to make one guy win another guy not. I want to thank all the RO's and especially the guys who did all the hard work to set this up. Katie and I will definitely be back next year
  2. This is shaping up to be a great match!!! If you havent been to the range complex in Sparta, you are missing out!!!! Cant wait!
  3. I took mine and my daughters out of our shooting bag after this weekends CMMG match. Too many isues with our LR ammo. It was a great idea but I wont waste anymore time on the clock fixing mag relatd jams. Back to Nordics for me....
  4. I recently started using the load two method and my loading time....at matches.....has almost been cut in half with little to no fumbled shells. That being said, I still use weak hand caddies when the situation permits. I look at it as another tool in the toolbox.
  5. The only time a larger tube is a big advantage is if you have to move to a shooting position. Longer tube allows you to load shells before you start shooting the stage. If you have a shotgun start where you have to start shooting right there, no advantage.
  6. I stopped reading when he said it looked ridiculous to have a long shotgun tube. I quit worrying about looks when I got married....
  7. Im glad to see Brownells step up as the match sponsor. This match was always sponsored by Midway in the past. Not sure what happened!
  8. The application is at the midwest 3 gun webiste but still no info on who is eligible.
  9. Blade tech has the new tek lok fasteners that allow you to switch out stuff just like ELS. Really slick.
  10. Jeff at C-Rums does a very nice lo pro rear sight.
  11. In my opinion, there is no need for a bull barrel for 3 gun. They are heavy for one. You also dont need a sub MOA gun for 3 gun. As long as it will hold 2 MOA, it will serve you well. That being said, if its the only thing you can find, better than nothing!
  12. try Best Western and Comfort Inn and Suites in Burnet, Texas. U da man!!!!
  13. Anyone tried to book a room yet? I just tried to book at a few places listed on the TX Multigun website. It appears there is a formula one race track close by and FRI and SAT rates are $300. Anyone know if there is a match hotel or somehwere reaonable to stay?
  14. +1 on Chris Patty. He is a great guy and supporter of the sport!
  15. You can also pull the trigger to release a shell. Be very careful about this as you need to KNOW your chamber is empty. Usually you will preload the shotgun and the shell release button will have already been pushed allowing you to just rack the bolt when you pick up the shotgun. Hope this helps.
