  1. And I believe if the idiots from Chicago get their way, it will be state wide.
  2. Forgot to add, no damage to brass.
  3. Don't nkow the cause of the damages brass. But as far as the last round slide lock thing , I had the same problem, didn't change the mags any but took a sharp knife and cut a notch out of the follower where it engages the slide lock. A LITTLE at a time, hard to put it back once you cut it off. My mag now runs dry and the slide locks when empty.

    Blondes....

WOW, LMAO. SC education at work.
  5. I don't know about the 20mm's on a AC-130, but the 7.62 mini's (similar to main picture) we had on our Blackhawks in Korea it was every 15th round for tracer. It was truly amazing and an awesome night show.
  6. LMAO, Gotta be true, thats just to stupid to make up
  7. Ask some of the local eyeglass places. If they tint locally, I don't see why they wouldn't be able to dip your clear lenses for you for next to nothing.
  8. Ran a test at the range today. Start line, 2 rounds per 2 targets 10 meter stop line, just something quick and easy. Shot first string from start line and then moved to stop line and fired into berm to stop timer, 5.39 4A. Next string was all shooting while moving 3.69 4A. Now imagine what a difference that would make on a regular field course. Pretty good eye opener. Have been given the advice to move more before but, I'm one of those hard headed types that have to see it and do it to really believe it. So for those out there that are having the same problem I was having get a timer and force yourself to shot on the move and check your times. It WILL "feel" slower because you're not going bang bang as fast but the overall time will be lower since you are covering ground and getting on the next target faster. Now to just get my feet moving faster. Thanks for all the input.
  9. OK, anybody have any input on this one. Last USPSA match I shot pretty good (94% of points) but my times were slow (5 seconds or so behind 2 M's and an A). Leading me to believe that I need to work draw time and transitions. I dont know my splits cause I dont have my timer tricked out yet but I would guess .20-.25. Now the last steel match, I went up against the same guys , 5 stages and 18 draw times later I finished 9-9 in times with an m open and 13-5 against a a open. Finished 2nd overall, leading me to believe that my transitions can't be to bad since steel is nothing but draws and transitions. 6 plate rack time is a consistent 3.10 or so with a best of 2.67. So my question, other than WTF, is does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions on what my hang up is with paper targets. I really love stages with lots of steel needless to say.
  10. Yeah, need to work transitions big time and tighten up my draw time some. Last local match shot 94.4% of points, but pertty slow.
  11. OK, point taken, to easy, make it like the Single stack now,,,,highest classififcation.
  12. Has anyone ever suggested to the BOD for a shooter to be able to claim a classification instead of having to shoot "U". The way the rules are now, if you are an "A" in whatever the lowest you will be in another division is "B" regardless of percentage. So when showing up to a match you could claim either your current level or one level down, depending how the rule would be written, so you could place, instead of shooting "U". It's being done in Single Stack. Why not other divisions? I started shooting a new different division several months ago, shot about 6-7 classifiers and due to one reason or another (summer vacations, state and area matches, personnel shortages, yada, yada, yada) at the club level (several clubs in 3 different states mind you), only 3 have made it to HQ's at this time. Frustrating to say the least, but a rule change would help alleviate this for others.
  13. Is there something out there like a formula that accounts for slide/barrel weight, ammo PF, and recoil spring weight for the purpose of functionability only. Only shooting it will allow each individual to find his/her favorite.
  14. Thats true, but at all the matches what do you hear from 90% of the shooters, "Eh, it's all about having fun". I didn't say I wouldn't shot them, just don't think they should be so high.
  15. I agree, but in fairness to the SC and Area 6 match staff, it's not limited to just these matches. Area 6 as a whole is probably the most expensive when it comes to match fees. Miss. $120, Tenn. $135, Al. $125. SC. $125. NC is pretty good and inline with rest of the country at $85. I find it AMAZING that clubs in NE, IA, MN, MI, KS, MO, PA, NV and many others can host state matches for less than 100 bucks!! Just my .02,,,, better make that .01. Save the other one for match fees.
  16. FWIW, e-mail and response from Federal: I reload for competitive shooting and was wondering about the differences between your SP and SR primers. Is there any differnece in the "hardness" of them. I run a light mainspring and I need a pretty soft primer to ensure positive ignition. SP's work great and was wondering about your SR's cause pretty often your SP's are HARD to find. response: All our primers have the same hardness. 205 and above rifle primers have a thicker cup.
  17. What would be the most extreme angle that you could put a hole in the barrel before it would be ineffective in muzzle rise reduction, v-style? The way my slide is currently configured I would have to go somewhere between 35-45 degrees off 12 o'clock. It would still have upward angle but leaning pretty good and I don't want to waste my time or money for something that would be more or less ineffective.
  18. No, just maybe 3-4 out of six stages not the whole thing. I did have have a few (2-3) d's thrown in to keep me honest and slow me down. But NO mikes. That's the answer I was looking for I was guesstimating between 80-85% range. From what I've seen and the videos online I doubted (read: knew) any of the top shooters were shooting over 90-95%. Those guys are crazy fast and I just can't believe that a lot of the shots aren't muscle memory and indexing. But I'm not that good to worry about that right now,(B-L & L-10) one crisis at a time. Thanks to all the responses. I think I have an idea were to start now.
  19. I know that you "can't miss fast enough to win" but the question I have is, At what percentage of points do you start to pick up the speed and push yourself to go faster, posibly dropping a few points until the new speed starts to click, 85, 90, 95? Example, I had several stages at a local match today with 110-150 points available and finished only 3-4 points down. I can't honestly tell you I called the shot, because I get so hyped up before a shoot that sometimes I just go on autopilot and have at it. Immediately after the stage I couldn't tell you my sight picture if my life depended on it.
  20. Everyone agrees to use Fed. small pistol if you can find them, how about small rifle? Are they just as soft. I lose about 100 or so FPS using Fed SP as opposed to Win SR. But running a light mainspring (17 w/extened firing pin) results in a few misfires every now and again (usually during a match and NOT practice of course). I could probably bump up a tenth grain or two to make up for the primer, but if FSR are just as soft as FSP then I think I would go with them.
  21. I use 8.9 gr of longshot for a 135 gr 40 open. Really like it, even if it does give me about 185 PF. I don't know that I would trust Win's website though. It starts at 10.2 and ends at 12gr. for a 135 gr. Nosler. I know plated is easier to push than a jacketed bullet but, man is there that big of a difference? Loaded up 9.9 grains, below starting data, and I flattened the primer and split the case. Just start low and work your way up.
