Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. If the concern is that people will have higher levels based on shooting paper targets. Isn’t that better than the alternative? A guy that’s really an A class shooter got himself GM through ripping these. He’s not going to win against actual GMs and is now stuck in the higher category. I think at this point, any change USPSA institutes is a good thing and if it doesn’t work try something else. But leaving things as they were doesn’t seem like the right answer.
  2. Cancers terrible. Rest easy
  3. We used to run 92s at work, and it was constant breakage with them. Ton of locking blocks cracked / split. I feel like the model is solid and shoot greats, but enough rounds through them the 92s just implodes on themselves.
  4. Big fan of those for pistol bays. Maybe add a 100 yarder for some rifle and crazy long pistol stages.
  5. I use a blade tech with a boss hangar from the Ben stoeger pro shop. Boss hangar is pretty awesome.
  6. +1. I can’t shoot without it anymore. My master / almost grandmaster friend introduced me to it and he douses his hands in prior to every stage, so now I do too
  7. I feel like green washes out for me if there’s trees / foliage / anything else nearby. Red is pretty high contrast and all I’ve ever shot. I like LHShooters suggestion, if you can go to any gun store I’m sure you’ll see both.
  8. Next time you shoot, when the timer goes off just stop for a second and take breath. Then go. That second you took at the start you’ll make up by not making mistakes. also helps to visualize everything. Look up memory visualization. Don’t plan just I’m going to move from here to there, but actually do it. Commit to that exact motion in warmup. Do a flown blown reload. also, reps and dry fire at home will help the most. We don’t rise to the occasion. We fall to the level of our training.
  9. Just go pick up a cheap Glock 17 / 19 / 19X and shoot with what you have. If you’re still into it after 6 months you can either resell the Glock for almost what you paid or upgrade it into carry optics / open / etc.
  10. A lot of what I see is dry fire will be great, and then you get out to actually shoot and are anticipating the trigger, slightly jerking the gun. great drill we do, requires a buddy but can be done with 2-3 mags in a dump pouch. have 1 mag with 1 round and 1 empty. Load gun without knowing which mag is in. Engage target/pull trigger. What you’ll find is a lot of the time you’ll pull the trigger on the gun and yank it on empty, showing you were anticipating the trigger. It’ll help you ease those nerves.
  11. Huge fan of the legion. But I’d be remiss if I didn’t recommend a Glock. Can do so much to them and it’s so much cheaper. Or a shadow2, those are always great.
  12. Hi, I’m new too. Excited to be here!
  13. Hi everyone, retired Army SF soldier. Been competition shooting for a while. Mainly USPSA production and just recently open with phoenix trinity honcho.
