Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I ended up buying the sig and have about 2k rounds through it. I like the feel in my hand and the reliability. I think the canik might have saved me money in the long run. Mags and hemming base pads are expensive for the sig. Also I liked the canik trigger better end have ended up ordering a gray gun trigger for my x5

    P320 triggers

I have been thinking about swapping out my x5 legions trigger for something with a little less travel and creep. Sig armorer put out a really good test video on triggers and the Keres product looks really attractive. But I suspect they have gone out of business, 6 months their centurion trigger has not come back in stock and I’ve not been able to get in contact with them. Any other triggers that people have good experiences with? It seems you can get a lot of improvement for your money vs sending the FCU to sig armorer with a check half the size of my gun. not knocking paying good money for good work, but I ain’t winning matches, I’m just having fun and would like a little improvement.
  3. So it seems like MOA is not longer an option for M3k work. Sounds like they’ve more or less closed up shop? Any other recommendations for shops that would open up a load port and maybe do some light trigger work?
  4. Does anyone make a brake that’s effective but also has the ability to put a blast deflector or linear compensator over it? I’m looking to not blow out the folks next to me at the range when I’m sighting in, but be able to have a fully effective compensator at events.
  5. So a friend and I started shooting 3 gun and USPSA matches this year. We figure getting a good minor load going would help. Were both shooting 5ish inch pistols (Glock and Sig). Right now were starting out with 147 grain slugs, Vector BA9 powder. We've managed to get a load that is shooting on average about 130-135 PF with a 95% confidence interval that keeps us from dropping below minor. Also it seems to cycle well. Are there other things we should consider? Different powder or different slugs? I'm new to all of this PF loading so I figure as light as possible is ideal. I'm not super comfortable because we've gone up to 4.1 gr of powder to get there and their loading manual calls for a max of 3.8gr of powder for a 145gr slug. Around 3.5-3.8gr of powder didn't even have enough juice to cycle my P320 Legion with the light spring.
  6. If you're into 3D printing, I'm working on one with ELS bolt pattern for 22\45 mags. Couldn't find anything on the market that met my needs. I'll share a link of sheer to download it when I'm happy with it.
  7. I’m not very interested in pistol only events other than for practice. How the gun would fit into non 3-gun USPSA events is less important to me. If I did run a USPSA pistol event, I’d probably run carry optics. It matches most closely with my budget oriented approach to open 3-gun.
  8. I’m currently running open because I’m a sucker for a red dot on a pistol. I may move back to tacops if they update the rules for pistol optics.
  9. Started shooting 3 gun this year after a long hiatus from competition shooting. I have a background in precision air rifle, high power and other slow speed rifle shooting. Done a few 3 guns this year and some local outlaw pistol / 2 gun stuff. And it’s becoming rapidly apparent that my only modern pistol is holding back my times a lot. It’s an FNP45T with optic and while the mags are large for 45, they’re still much smaller than properly set up 9mm guns. Not to mention the cost of ammo, increased recoil, and mediocre trigger. I’m mostly considering a Sig P320 X5 Legion, or a Canik Rival. I’ve held both and like both triggers and both grips. When I add everything up on paper, it seems like doing everything like adding mass and making the canik shoot nice on light loads etc brings costs close enough to parity. Any one have experience with both or maybe went down the same path and have lessons learned they’d like to share? Money is an obstacle and Id rather not spend more than I need to, yet I fear being penny wise and dollar foolish.
