  1. 12 years later and not much has changed....
  2. Maybe I'm weird but sport pistol feels better to me with a lighter bullet vs titegroup for 147's. Both at 130PF.
  3. How about a post for discount codes? Does anyone have one for Acme before I put a big order in?
  4. Ok I don't feel bad then. I'm new to reloading but have just under a years supply as of right now.
  5. With all this "hoarding" what number of primers constitutes hoarding?
  6. That's tough. I guess it depends on your goals with it. I imagine it would make a great LO gun after a little work. For now I'll use mine to shoot some pin matches with, as well as a little steel challenge. I have ZERO issues with either of my shadow 2's but I rarely shoot the orange. The OR model is my C/O gun and impresses me more every time I shoot it. I'm going to sell my S2 orange and keep the dwx for sure. In the near future I will probably send the barrel to patriot defense as well as order the ignition kit from CGW when they release it.
  7. First things first- like my shadows the chamber is fairly short on this one too. Max OAL for blue 135 TC's is somewhere around 1.11". None of my reloads would plunk test. To me it feels a little more balanced than my shadow 2. More weight in the barrel for sure. Compared to my shadow 2's with CGW packages the trigger definitely feels a little heavy. It's very crisp with no creep but I'll definitely be lightening it. I'm sure it will break in a little but CGW is coming out with a package to get the trigger under 3lb. Mine is a crisp 4lb even. The reset is very short. Overall fit and finish is what you would expect. No complaints at all. Looking forward to shooting it more! I imagine eventually I will have the slide milled for an SRO.
  8. Couldn't help myself. Going to look into lightening the trigger pretty quick I think. Fits in a RHT shadow 2 holster just fine. Headed to the range now.
  9. Do you follow Ben Stoeger on Instagram? Lol.... if not you should check out his recent update.
  10. Ok sounds good. I'm well versed in setting my phone alarm to be able to get into a match around here
  11. Buyer backed out and there is one available at Bristlecone Shooting and Retail in Lakewood Colorado. Price is 2099. Trigger pull is exactly 4lb. I couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger on it.... I have two shadow 2's that I love. It is very nice though. Super short reset, tight lock up, and a crisp trigger break. I think it felt a little heavy for me cause I'm used to my shadow 2 that is right at 3lb.
  12. Any chance you shoot USPSA there? Is it a quality match? I'm thinking of heading down from Denver next week. Looking at past matches it looks like they don't always shoot a classifier? Or maybe it's just not listed.
  13. Got to handle one today. My local shop got 5 in that all sold in a day. I thought it felt really nice but was surprised at how heavy the trigger felt.
  14. I ended up paying the hazmat fee and bought a bunch of sport pistol from Brownells. They still have 1lb increments in stock.
  15. I've been having a ton of fun lately! Around here different rules for different places. One is doing painted pins randomly as start/stop pins, or a hanging pin as a stop pin. The other place sets a handicap based on how good you are with anywhere from 5-8 pins. They're all setup on a 12" wide table so it's pretty friendly To any ammo. The last match I shot was pretty competitive and I ended up winning shooting 115gr 9mm ammo because it allowed me to shoot 2-3 rounds into a pin before it actually cleared. I almost enjoy it more than uspsa lol
  16. Yea that definitely makes sense! Any idea where to pick up sport pistol or N320 locally? I searched most of the retailers around here that have a website and came up empty. Borrowing a labradar from a buddy this week so I'm trying to come up with something I like to stick with.
  17. I'm definitely suffering from analysis paralysis since I've gotten into reloading. I've shot 115's, 135's, and 147's. At competition distances I haven't found a combo that ISN'T accurate. I want to try Sport Pistol as TiteGroup seems to smoke quite a bit. I just can't decide on a weight. I've also tried both .355's and .356's and don't notice much of a difference in accuracy. What I did notice is the Hornady PTX is a little more of a pain to get enough bell as to not remove coating from Acme's with .356's. In shooting pin matches I won the last one I entered shooting 115's and I felt the quick follow-ups were very beneficial. All the USPSA matches I've shot have been with 135's and I don't feel like the follow-ups are slow either though. I think I'll place a large order for 135's.
  18. We shoot anywhere from 7 to 9 depending which shop is hosting. They all have a 10 round mag limit.
  19. I count at bowling pin matches for the same reason. 10 round limit and a speed reload.
  20. Got both my Shadow 2 barrels back from Patriot Defense after having them ream them. Headed to the range to verify accuracy right now but reloading shouldn't be an issue anymore. Blue 147 RN's went from a Max OAL of 1.08 to 1.16. The 147gr Acme FN's I'm trying were 1.19. I worked up a few different loads trying 1.15 and 1.13 for now.
  21. Nevermind I was mistaken...
  22. I found a LGS that has CCI 500's on sale if you're a member for $66/1k. What is everyone else paying?
  23. I would look for something heavy with a low bore axis. The rest is on the shooter.
  24. Even the BRC steel match this weekend is full and weather doesn't look that great. I'm pretty sure the March BRC USPSA match also sold out? It was in the mid 20's and cloudy for most of the match. I think so far everything this year has filled up within a day at the longest? I think consistency between clubs would help. What stipulates a cancellation as well as when they are posted.
  25. I can't find either one of the guys you mentioned on Instagram. I follow both Garand Thumb and Lucas though.
