BORG
Hi guys, this is my first post here. I have owned a M17 and M21 in the past. I placed an order for a M20 at a local gun show in the Atlanta area last weekend. I called the dealer today and they said it was on backorder. I called Glock US HQ here in Atlanta and they said they are running about 8-10 weeks behind on ALL Glock models. Seems that Glock is doing a brisk business these days. Any word out there on how long it's taking some of you to get your Glocks in hand from your dealers that have to order them? Thanks!
sideshowbob
This is interesting because two distributors appear to have all versions of the Glock 20 in stock. Davidsons and Bill Hicks Co. Maybe you should ask your dealer to order from one of the aforementioned. Or, you can visit the Davidsons website (www.galleryofguns.com) and order it yourself with shipment to a local dealer. Good luck with your purchase. I am currently trying to convince myself that I DO NOT need another Glock. Edited August 28, 2008 by sideshowbob
wheelgunr
I ordered glock 34 from OMB, as part of gssf special purchase program, the first week in June----still waiting. I spoke with someone at OMB about 2 weeks ago and they claimed to be waiting for a shipment. Did I mention I am still waiting.

BORG
I'm going to call Glock again tomorrow and make sure that the M20 is still being manufactured. I have heard some rumors that they may discontinue it. Why I don't know, it definitely has a following among hunters for sure.
sideshowbob
Again, Glock 34s appear to be in stock at Davidsons and Bill Hicks co.
BORG
I had paid for it last week at the gun show so they would order it. So I should have some say so over what distributor gets it into the dealers hands and then mine. I'll give them until next week and then hit them with the Davidsons and Bill Hicks options. I've already got my reloading equip. in for the 10mm, so I'm ready to bust some caps with this bad boy. Thanks!

I also ordered a Glock 34 from OMB, as part of the GSSF program, and was told they were on backorder. Unfortunately used a money order, so it would be a hassle to change to another dealer. Matt Griffin
It took five months to get two guns from the GSSF program, so don't hold your breath. It's the lowest priority on their build chart, and they're 60k guns behind, from what I've heard. H.
BORG
I just talked to Glock again and they said that they are about 8-10 weeks on backorder with everything. But, they are starting to see some improvement on getting caught up with adding the extra shifts. I can still shoot my buddy's M21 for some Glock trigger time when we get together. I understand Lone Wolf makes a conversion kit to convert a M21 to a M20. I might get a M21 and convert it to a 10mm with that option if this delay persists more than a month or so. Oh by the way, they said there are no plans to discontinue the M20.
Middle Man
Glock has been chronically behind this year and they have historically gone though periods of shortages depending on demand often outside the commercial market. The gun industry just doesn't work like any other consumer goods industry with regards to timely product availability...I suppose it probably never will. Having said that, several distributors have both 20's and 34's on the shelf to ship to retailers.

BORG
I think I'm going to get the M21 that my dealer has left. Lone Wolf Dist. has a 10mm slide conversion kit that I can buy later on if I want to. I can load up the 21 to P+ power with one their supported barrels and heavier springs and P+ brass. Hey, I just might get the .50GI conversion kit instead from Guncrafter Industries. It offers alot more power than either the 10mm or the .45 on a 21 or 20 frame. Jman
Borg, Welcome to the forum! Question. You do mean G17, G20 and G21, right? God knows I could have missed something. Jim
Flexmoney
Borg, You want a G20...get one. It's a sleeper. It's the softest shooting gun in our game (properly loaded). You might ask Middleman where to get one (he might know somebody ).

Micah
FWIW when I won a Glock at a GSSF match a year or two ago, it took 7 weeks for the gun to come in.
Chris Keen
Se7en Weeks ? That's not so bad .......... I've had match plaques take longer than that to arrive!
BORG
I pick up the G21 on Tues. I can always order a 10mm slide and barrel and mag. from Lone Wolf. A G20 is a good gun, but it ain't worth waiting 2-4 months for. Besides, there are more bullet designs for .45s and I can load it up hotter with heavier springs and a supported barrel from Lone Wolf and P+ brass. Another shooter was having big problems with his. H. Arredondo's with an ISMI (PO 45) 140mm spring has been pretty reliable in my G-21. Should work well in a G-20 also. Flex may have another combo. Flexmoney
Beven's pad and springs are what we run in my girlfriend's G20. If anybody is having troubles, it is likely the springs. I think that the early Taylor Freelance bases for the G20/21 used the same spring that came with the G17/22 pads (too skin for the interior of the G20/21 mags). My buddy Dale (dwt on here) has run G20's...more than me. He has probably posted what he uses (search). They run like a Glock (shooting 40). HiredGun
Besides, there are more bullet designs for .45s and I can load it up hotter with heavier springs and a supported barrel from Lone Wolf and P+ brass. I don't know that I would endorse that line of thinking at all. It would be very unsafe to try to load a 45 ACP to the same pressures a 10mm operates at. If you want a 10mm just get one. There are many in stock at various online outlets. You could have it overnight if you wanted to pay the extra frieght. Bud's Gunshop sells them with free frieght and has plenty of 10mm's in stock. BDCooper
I ordered an OD green G17 on June 12. It arrived yesterday, August 30. Definitely worth the wait though, but i was surprised as well that it took so long. I used the GSSF program as well. The price was definitely worth the wait.
