Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. One more birthday and I will be a senior! Thanks for the shout out Bubber! Teddi shot the NW Revo match better than I did, I am changing over to open and the dot isn't my friend at this point. It was good to get out and shoot an ICORE match, wish we could make the IRC this year, but work and the oldest daughters college graduation say otherwise. Good luck at the Nationals and the IRC, we will see you next year. Steelshooter
  2. Broke my heart not being able to attend and then shoot the Man of Steel the next day. It is a great weekend of shooting in the area, and, Mike McCarter is simply the best. Edited to add Jerry V puts a lot into the trail run and match, too. I just don't like to give him credit for anything. I am sure everybody understands. Teddi and I had fun, Mike and Jerry V put on a great match as always. I haven't seen the results yat, but Mike W put a 3rd place award into my hands at MOS. So limited went Trevor, Brian Noel and then me. Gene M won open and Mike W who shot in our squad took 1st in classic. MOS was great, thanks to Nick and everyone, we had a blast. The weather was perfect and evreyone had fun. Jon drop me a personal email about you. jerry said you had surgery, but no details. Picking up the girls next week, then the PB steel prize match and then the IRC.
  3. Packin up the bags, Teddi and I leave tomorrow for Oregun, to shoot both the ICORE match and Man of Steel. Good times this is one of my favorite weekends, hope to see old friends and new, get your round guns out and come play!
  4. ADCO makes one you can get it here: http://www.bullseyegear.com/bullseyepistol/product.php?productid=170&cat=16&page=1
  5. June 1-3, 2012. http://www.icore.org/match-2012.html
  6. Just a FYI, Tri-County has a Speed Steel match on Sunday the 7th listed on their calendar, it starts at 9AM, so you can make the trip to Oregon a two-fer if you are so inclined. We have done this in the past and it works out very nicely for a full weekend of shooting, see you all there!
  7. Bubber, Dang you can't be that young! Happy B-day from the Washington clan, Roger, Teddi and Rian ! Hope to see you at the IRC again this year!
  8. Midway has them for $18.99... ItemID Qty Price Description -------- ---- ------- ----------------------------------- 238217 3 $18.99 Ruger Magazine Ruger 22/45 Mark ... Best price I could find after an internet search. Good luck Roger
  9. If you remove the trigger transfer bar first, the mag safety can be pulled out along with the spring that powers it. Reinstall the trigger bar and you are back in business. Here is link to a good description of how the dis-connector works, look at it and you will see what I am describing. http://guntalk-online.com/Model41maintenance.htm#magdisconnect Good luck.
  10. The three times that I have made it to the the IRC I have welcomed the opportunity to challenge myself against this stage. It doesn't reward those who "groove it", it rewards those who practice all the necessary skills to advance yourself towards mastery. Look at the results year to year and those who are great shooters shoot this well. I doubt Jerry, or Vic, or Jason P, or Robbie, etc benefited from practicing this over and over. I am saddened that this will no longer be the challenging stage it once was. I think Yoda summed this stage up best! See you at the star studded, and Near and Far-less IRC!
  11. Try this, the Burris depends on contact with the battery from the inside top and the bottom. First CAREFULLY and GENTLY bend the inside upper contacts down a little bit. Second, fit a thin piece of rubber between the battery and the mount. What is happening is the battery is being shaken inside the sight until it loses contact and bingo..intermittent dot. 12. Go with an open Glock. I built one for my 15 y/o daughter (5'3" and 115lbs) and she loves it! You can get a new or slightly used G17 for about $425, add a SJC convertible comp, a slide racker, mag well, 11lb spring, extended mag release and 3 mags with Arredondo extensions (23rds)for roughly $1200. It shots minor well, both handloads and any factory rounds you feed it. No jams, etc. Damn thing just runs, it is a glock after all. She likes the dot and can manage to safely navigate courses of fire, which is the most important thing IMHO. If her skills keep growing, I will look at moving her up to a full house open gun in the future, once done with the Glock, I am sure I can get most of my money back by parting it out. Let me know if you need more info, I would be glad to help out. Roger
  13. This is without a doubt one of the most fun matches that I have ever shot with a revolver. It features great stage designs, high round counts, wonderful props and best of all great people. My wife and I have always had fun and we look forward to shooting "the Croc" again this year. Hope to see you all there Roger
  14. Unfortunately family events will prevent both me and the Missus (Teddi) from attending this year However, I want to wish the Northwest contingent all the best (Jerry V, Jon S, James Austin, Scott S) as well as last years squad mates, Bubber, Roger Reed, Dean Gomez, Carmoney, et al Good luck and best of shooting. Next year, in addition to both of us we hope to have the youngest with us, she is showing great apptitude with the round gun. Roger Edington
