A district that is close and willing to pay for a few classes will allow me to begin in the fall. Pitt, I had a discussion with two veteran shooters on Sunday about the whole PhD thing as well as the GM thing, and they both agreed that to have them and be a class act is a great thing...but to have them and be an a$$ just makes you a bigger a$$. SDM Posted June 17, 2009 Share Posted June 17, 2009 PB, If you’re going to take the next step go ahead and do it. When I was working on my MS I had a chance to line up the PHD work but didn’t. I was sick of the classroom and the busy-work assignments. If all I’d had to do was the field work and dissertation I’d been all over it. Had I just kept going it would have been better. I just reached the 5 years after completeing my specialist degree, so guess what I start in July? I am taking several classes now (I know...as soon as I get out...they pull me back in) so that I will be HQT in all content areas 7-12.
