Precision40
Has anyone submitted an application for a Form 1 to make a SBR or SBS or bought a class 3 within the last 6 months? I'm wanting to build a Rem 1100 14" and have the paperwork submitted, but am just curious if anyone has any "recent" experience with current lead-time on approval. I bought an 870 14" last year and it took 4 months, but things have changed...Hopefully for the better?

Precision40
My 1st class 3 early last year took exactly 5 months. Since Obama came in it appears the time has actually decreased for some strange reason. Perhaps the ATF expected a run of Class 3 permits and acted accordingly. Next one will probably be bought through a Trust, those are taking even less time from what I've seen. I've heard of them going through in as soon as 30 days but I think that's the exception. Why 14"? It just sounded like a good round number Edited April 8, 2009 by Precision40
