ExtremeShot
I finally got around to trying a 25lb mainspring in my SV Limited gun. It felt like I had MORE recoil. It was a real crappy shooting gun. So, it appears that increasing the poundage of the mainspring does not reduce the force of the slide (by slowing it down), and instead just redirects the force down. I'm going to go back and compare the 23 lb a 19.5 and 17 and see which feels best. D

JoshF
I'm currently running a 14 ISMI Recoil w/17lb ISMI Main Spring. I've played around quite a bit shuffling between the 12.5 & 14 ISMI. The 14 seams "soft and bouncy" while the 12.5 is "quick/harsh and flat". I use to run a 12lb Wolff and it seemed the best of both worlds. So am I just dreaming this up or has anyone else noticed a distinct difference in the recoil impulse/sight tracking between similar weight Wolff and ISMI springs? OH, and I run a full dustcover & lightened slide Edited March 26, 2009 by JoshF

ahtsay
Why would a sight-tracker need a lighter recoil spring? Is it because the slide is considerably lighter?
