kimberacp
am building a AR rifle and read somewhere, when doing a search about stocks, that someone recommended getting a A1 stock over the A2, if your not into the "tactcool" look! I do have long arms and didn't want something short. What is the difference between the A1 and A2 stocks? thanks
kurtm
The A1 stock looks just like the A2 EXCEPT it is 5/8" shorter.
el pres
A1 is shorter by like an inch !! Opps, beaten by the Kurt !! Edited December 30, 2008 by DIRTY CHAMBER
Derek45
The buttplate is different too. original M16, M16A1, M16A2 I think the original and A1 slide up into my shoulder easier.
EkuJustice
I run mine with a full size, fixed Ace stock. It dosent have the collapsible tacticool look and is the most comfortable stock I have ever shot
ShooterSteve
I also shoot an ace stock, but if you ever snuggle down on a vltor, you will have one on your next build. I know it's a personal thing, but I'm jonesing on my buddies AR- are you listening out there inked?
kimberacp
your right about the Vltor. I once held the Ace stock and I didnt really like the spongy foam. Vltor also has that cheek piece thing. thanks for the replies.

Run n Gun
anyone know where to find an A1 stock? Cavalry Arms sells a "C-1 Buttstock" that's the same length as an A-1. Ed

GIO
Thanks guys. Looking to build up a short light AR for matches out here in Omaha. We shoot in the pistol bays so a lot of fast close stuff. GIO
