Rim open or iron?

I'm running a Tac Sol upper with their comp but no optic. Am I eligible for rimfire iron or open? My club keeps scoring me as open no matter that I register as iron. Can't seem to find anything on the steel challenge website.

From the Steel Challenge rules:

RIMFIRE PISTOL EVENT:

Open to any pistol firing .22 Long Rifle ammunition (see “ammunition” above).

This event has two categories: “Optics” and “Iron Sights.” The use of any optical device

(including lasers) qualifies that pistol for “Optics.” Fiber-optic sight inserts are allowed in

“Iron Sights.”

Rimfire divisions are divided by sights only.

No longer true.

Read the new March 2011 provisional rules. Rimfire is now Open and Iron.

Open allows everything.

Iron specifically prohibits barrel ports, optics, and compensators and specifically allows fire-optic inserts.

When they become final no more comps in 22 Iron division.
