  1. Is registration open for this match? We can't seem to locate it in Practiscore. Seiichi
  2. The last place we were shooting AP in SoCal was at Prado, but stopped a few years ago. The range tore out our mover and recut berms for the USPSA club, which has over 100 shooters each weekend. Kyle Schmidt at Rio Salado, used to run about 4 matches a year from Jan to April, but the Superstition Mountain and the JP PCC championships has interfered with his matches the last few years. Seiichi
  3. I think Mike and Mike got rid of Flying M 2000 because the stage ran slower than the others, causing a backup. It was the only stage other than Outer Limits that required movement, and we shot 5 strings, instead of just 4 as we do for Outer Limits. It also required the shooter to holster and turn/move uprange to get back to the starting position. It was a fun stage though. Lot's of stutter stepping, just like in Outer Limits. Seiichi
  4. Bob includes exact measurements with the zig racker, on where to cut the slide. I just had one put on my Steelmaster. Seiichi

    Bul Armory?

Mark Itzstein is sponsored by them. I think he goes my pinshooter on the forums. Seiichi
  6. Are the magazine capacities the same? Is the CZ big stick 170 mm? One of my friends is trying to convince me to try open with a CZ. (I currently don't shoot open at all for USPSA.) I do, however, have an open steel gun, and limited minor gun for 3 gun, so I'm already invested in 2011 based mags, holsters, and accessories. Seiichi
  7. I have it download to my phone, but can't find any directions on how to analyze video. The help link sends me to an old wordpress site, that doesn't have any information. Is there somewhere else to get directions? Thanks, Seiichi
  8. But, could the act of being caught with illegal magazines be enough for a search of a residence? Just like the whole high cap mag permit thing. Does the permit only cover the named, or all employees, and only at place of business, or at matches? I don't want to be the test case. Seiichi
  9. The host country, range, staff, club members, and volunteers were all amazing. The entire Munt family went well beyond what would be expected! Richard's father, club president, ran the mover during practice and the match. His mother baked snacks for everyone during practice, then baked and decorated two amazing cakes for the awards dinner. Richard, facilitating the storage of our firearms, and providing gunsmithing and ammunition loading services for the match. It was great catching up with old friends and making new ones. The trip was too short, just when I got accustomed to driving clockwise around the roundabouts, it was time to head home... Seiichi
  10. Could someone build a range in Tahiti? I hear the water is nice there. Seiichi
  11. Max Michel and Jessie Duff both shoot Tacsol 2011 conversions for Steel Challenge. I have 4 of them, that I've gathered over the last 5 years. Use good ammo and you should be happy with it. I use whatever is cheap for practice, but shoot CCI standard velocity or minimags for matches. Seiichi
  12. Does anyone know if there are forms required to be submitted in the USA, before taking firearms to New Zealand? I'm just about finished with all of the New Zealand Police and mfat forms. Thanks, Seiichi
  13. Has anyone registered and paid recently on the WAPC2016 website? I've been receiving Paypal errors for the last 3 days. Clair Salter says the page is now functional, but I can't seem to get it to work. Seiichi
  14. Can you please post some information on the required paperwork to take pistols and ship ammunition to New Zealand. I'll be traveling from the US. Thanks, Seiichi
  15. Safariland GLS or ALS (I think the model is 6390/6378) seem to be popular. The GLS has the retention release under the triggerguard, while the ALS holsters have the release by the thumb. Seiichi
  16. Any good fly fishing around the match location? Seiichi
  17. Thank you for posting this information. Seiichi
  18. Tom, Can you give us a summary of what the P3K package includes vs. the M3000 package. Thanks, Seiichi
  19. I hope you gentleman wash your hands after "quad loading"... Seiichi
  20. Except for the first year, which was basically an invitational match, I've shot every ProAm. I followed the match from Tulsa to Frostproof, when USSA had an uncertain future. This year was definitely different than past years. Let me start off with the good. I feel that the shooting aspect was very similar to the previous years. Our squad shot both the limited and open matches without having to wait on the squad in front of us. I shot limited on Saturday afternoon, and I believe there were only five squads shooting, so things kept moving. Sunday morning open ran smoothly also, and there was a squad starting on each stage. The stage ROs were very efficient, and I recognized several ROs who have worked the match in the past. In terms of stage design, this was the first year where we had target arrays where a standing reload was pretty much mandatory. But hey, everyone has to shoot the same stages, so it's fair. Now for the not so good. As everyone is aware, there was very limited communication about the match. I don't want to rehash what's already been said, but I feel I need to touch on one topic. I requested to be squadded with a couple of local friends. We didn't receive any squadding information until the week before the match. We were flying from Los Angeles on different days, so coordinating rooms, car rental, and travel to and from the range was very difficult without knowing if we were actually able to shoot together. There was very little information at the shooters' meeting. Scoring needs to be better addressed, at least for the benefit of the new shooters. Many of the poppers were set up backwards. I brought this to the attention of the stage ROs, but they argued that they were actually correct. The two piece poppers are meant to lean forward against the bolt, and fall away from the shooter when shot. And then there are the forward falling poppers with springs. The springs were meant to be towards the rear, so that the shot popper would compress against the spring, and then fall forward. Everyone who shot the match must have seen the popper (4th from the right) on stage 8, that just wouldn't fall. Well, it was backwards, like several others. We waited 4 hours for results and there were no updates during the entire time we waited. They used Practiscore, so I had hoped that the results would be compiled more quickly. Even when Phil was running the match, the wait for results was painfully long. He was keeping score on paper and entering them into Excel, but he gave us updates in between. Phil also provided a prize table list, so that kept us distracted. As others mentioned, the prize and award distribution was a debacle. On the "interim" practiscore results at the end of Saturday, there were 18 "A" class open entries. The rulebook states: "4th place in a class will be awarded if there are 15 or more competitors in that class." I finished 4th A open and was told that there was no plaque for fourth. When I showed the match director the page in the program, he stated that as of a couple weeks ago, there weren't the required number of shooters, so he didn't order a plaque. Then he went on to say that if I wanted a plaque, I could get one if I went to next year's match. Now, I really don't mind that I didn't get a plaque, but I wanted to see if he'd try to make things right. As for the limited match prize table, I somehow got skipped. I walked up on my own and asked what place they were on, and was allowed to just grab a bag. The prizes were pretty thin this year. I saw people get bags with just a hat and an extractor, or a hat and a mug, and a few people with AR15 mags. Except for the firearms certificates that were for the top finishers, it appears that the average value of the bags was about $30. We don't always shoot matches for the prizes, but in the past, the awesome prize table made the $270 (open+limited) entry fee, palatable. As much crap as we gave Phil about the match, it's now apparent how hard he worked to make it successful. I hope the new owners make the necessary adjustments to keep this match afloat. Seiichi
  21. Does anyone know if the chokes are the same as Benelli M2? I have a Briley certificate that expires in a week and want to order chokes for my M3K (which is on order.) Thanks, Seiichi
  22. Any information on squadding yet? Seiichi
  23. Is there any information available about which days/time slots are still available? Seiichi
  24. I heard that The Steel Challenge will be the weekend of Nov. 14th at the Hogue Range in San Luis Obispo, Ca. This was from someone affiliated with the range, but i'm waiting to see it on the USPSA website. Unfortunately, I think this is the same weekend as the Western States Single Stack Classic at Rio.
