8 round bill drill

post your time/hits and class

i find this one really gets your trigger finger relaxed.

my results:

COLD

Glock 21 comp-tac kydex holster

Limted master

2.27 seconds -1pt

felt sloppy on the draw at 1.10 and the last shot was a charlie.

after two runs getting increasingly faster, i managed a 2.06 run, clean.

there were four .13 splits consecutive. the rest were .15s or less.

kinda fun watching the sight bounce up and down in the A-zone like that...and those .13 splits sound like the gun doubled....alot.

anyone get it under 2.0 with an iron sighted gun and still shoot clean?

Hmmmmm 8 shots vs. 5 I may toy with it tomorrow with my M&P .40 LTD pistola. I have a hard enough time controlling 5 shots that fast with the lightweight frame it has, so this should be a challenge. I can hit 1's pretty consistent cold to get it rolling, but after that, it tends to go downhill at a a quick rate. I'll let you know tomorrow PM.

Harmon is this done by shooting at a single target or multiple. I ask because I have been practicing with my 22 pistol at 21 feet with 4 targets....2 shots at each. I don't own a timer yet but I did video tape so I suppose I could guess...however I am sure I am over 2 seconds

still cant get it under 2.0 clean.

i may dust off my open gun and try that, i may be able to get some more accuracy out of it.

im going to try this again tomorrow and see( with the glock 21) i just have to load some more 45 ammo.

Brian Enos claimed he has done 18 round bill drills if i remember correctly(from his book)

for some reason, i shave time off the draw, my splits slow down

i can get it under two seconds, but i give up the alpha on the draw....

with gas, bullets, and primers so expensive, looks like i will just play with this from time to time as you learn nothing more doing this, vs a real bill drill.

anyone else try it?

Hmm.. today I did an 8 round bill drill with a 627 loaded to minor in 2.93 seconds.. All alphas.

Not too bad for a round gun shooter :)

I'd say that's a good run for me with a bottom feeder. :D

Nice job

I wish I would have reviewed the shots. I shot a 15 round bill drill in 5.96 with a plain jane single stack. I'll give this one a shot next time out. Doing the math, I "shouldn't" be able to get under 2. My splits are .16 to .18 and my consistant draws are .95-1.05. 2.3 is where I the math puts me at. That means a sub 2 is a good personal goal. Should be fun.

If I calculate my fastest draw from sunday (.78), then I can hit 1.98 with the same trigger speed. Hmmmm.
