Carmoney
was that Dave Williams from Springfield shooting revolver? Nope, you're thinking of Geneseo Dave Williams, the reigning pistolsmith of the year. He's a real nice guy and decent shooter in his own right, we happened to be on the same squad together at the Single Stack Classic this year. This was Topeka Dave Williams--(sounds kinda like a name for a pool player, doesn't it?)--known as pskys2 here on the forum, and one of the finest goodwill emissaries out there for Revolver Division, and the IPSC sport in general. Dave was shooting IPSC when Frank Pachmayr and Austin Behlert were still in diapers.
pskys2
Maybe Austin's son Frank, but definitely not Pachmyr.
Keith
Great match! Thanks to the OOPS crew for all their hard work. Next year, if they are back to back I am thinking I want to shoot both and demonstrate my (lack of) mastery over Single Stack as well as Revo! Also the mastery of doors that one pushes open instead of trying to pull open ... and when that fails, pulling it harder .... (At least that provided comic relief for all that were watching...) As a match director I was taking mental notes on the pure genius of the door that opened inward. I will be annoying MN shooters with that one next year.
aerosigns
I loved the door! I think I was able to gain signifigant ground on my competitors by pushing the door on the first try.

cliffwalsh
Thanks Mike and all the OOPS folks for a great match. The stages make you think and there were many ways to shoot them. The match ran smooth and we finished up by 2 or 3 each day; that left plenty of quality beer time. I hope they run in next year. Put it on your list, it was a first class match. pskys2
Usually it's not a problem, open the door once and you remember it. I've seen'em both ways so many times. But, this door It just "LOOKED" like it "HAD" to open towards you. Then watching so many do it, just made it worse. Luckily it only took me 1 pull, 1 push and a fall thru. Then there was that little doorway in the "Wall". I saw a few have trouble with that also. I can never really decide whether to groan, or laugh. Unless it's me, then I hope everyone laughs along with me! Edited October 10, 2006 by pskys2
killarbb
great match with great people all the way around. i truelly enjoyed shooting the match. now if i can just start to figure out how to break down a stage and actually stick to a game plan things might work better. and i really hate it when those damned "white guys" jump out in front of a speeeding bullet, who do they think they are, Superman? thanks again to mike and all of OOPS brett
Bubber
Just to add it was great to be able to shoot with High Plains Drifter and Areosigns. I won't hold it against H.P.D that he whupped me..MUCH.... I also noticed that Areosigns did not offer me a sponsership with Team Bunny Fart. Something about he has standards that must be met. revoman
Great match, I think I am finally getting the hang of shooting iron sights now if I can remember that I don't have to reload everytime I move. As for the door I think next year you should have one that has to be lifted up. Just think how many face plants you will have if you change the direction from in to out. I think everyone will remember the door next year. As for the narrow doorway I know I shot a few notches out of the frame. Again great match and for those who could not make the match this year make sure you mark it down for next year. Dean

Carmoney
Here are the final scores, as posted to the website. Note a few corrections were made to fix mistakes that were not caught on match day. (We had Cliff, Dave M., and Chad incorrectly listed as major, when they were actually shooting minor.) None of these affected the awarding of plaques and medals. h4444
All of these are just a few minutes from the range:Keith, the casino is actually pretty decent, with nice dealers and a friendly crowd. Just watch out if you decide to get in a Texas-Holdem cash game, because 2-7 offsuit is known all around the state as the "Osceola Big Slick." I prefer to think of 2-7 offsuit as "The Lakeside Nuts". Carmoney
Uh, actually, I believe Cliff, Dave, and Ron have become known around Clarke County as the Lakeside Nuts......but that's probably a different matter altogether.
