mpolans
Can you hard chrome stainless parts? Also, any problems with a carbon steel top on a stainless frame?
Run n Gun
I called and ask Virgil if he could Hard Chrome my stainless blaster and he said "no problem". Give him a call, I think you'll find him very easy to talk to. Tripp Research Ed

Larry White
Yes on the chrome stainless, no on the problems. There is just no downside here. The hard chrome just makes both better.-----Larry
DougCarden
I have also been told by several smiths that if it the SS gun is a hard use gun that will see lots of rounds to hardchrome it, to alleviate the galling fear. I am having a Bianchi gun built on a stainless frame that I won that will be Hardchromed as well! DougC
Bear23
My stainless Springfield 1911 no longer galls. The action is much smoother and it tightened the pistol up quite a bit.
bountyhunter
Also, any problems with a carbon steel top on a stainless frame? No, except the carbon steel is probably harder so the stainless will wear more at the points they rub on each other.

After hardchrome they will wear the same.------Larry
