Here ya go (for fired brass, anyway, not loaded rounds):

For hand loaded: 7000 grains/bullet+case+primer+powder charge weight in grains = #rounds/pound

For factory: weigh one round and divide that into 7000

:P

Isn't that why the US Postal Svc. has scales that can be zero'd with an empty container in their small branch's?

FWIW, the small (well, pistol-sized :D) fold-it-yourself Priority Mail boxes weigh about 2oz or 60 grains. The automatic postage machines will give you a weight in oz before you have to put money in. :ph34r:
