Davecoff13
Has anyone used the CCi 400 small rifle primers in ammo that was used in an A.R. platform? I know they want you to use the number 41 military primers as they have a harder cup to prevent slam fires. I used them when I first started reloading but not in any volume. Never had issues but wanted to know peoples thoughts . Thanks
MadBomber
Yes, I have used thousands of those in AR's over the past few decades. Not once have I ever had a slam fire. Hope that helps out.

frankge
400s never a problem, they leave a dimple on the last round in but never a slam fire Edited February 17, 2023 by frankge
rifleman777
I’ve used many thousand CCI’s and Federal’s (I know they’re softer) in the last several decades (mostly on prairie dogs and coyotes) and never had a slam fire. Like frankge said above, a there’s a very slight dimple on last unfired round in the chamber. Just make sure you don’t have any high primers.
