Cnickolas
Are there any potential issues using a vibratory cleaner on loaded pistol and rifle ammunition?

rooster mcbee
Yes, in a nutshell, it could potentially, cause the powder flakes to erode or change size and thereby change the powder characteristics.

Would vibrating the finished rounds be any different than finished rounds in boxes going down a bumpy road? Or for that matter, an 8lb jug of powder on CA freeways being delivered to a store? lefty o
much higher amplitude inside a tumbler vs riding in a truck, or train car etc. so many variables, different types of powder kernels, space in the casing for it to move around, etc. here's my own thoughts on it, im not a fan of it, but 10 minutes in a tumbler should cause no harm. It’s been proven time and again that this is fake news.
Cnickolas
Has anyone done an actual test on chrono comparing pistol and rifle rounds that went through vibratory cleaner?
SnipTheDog
If running cartridges through a vibratory tumbler was really bad for finished rounds, I'd expect that Hodgdon would have a warning on their website expressly prohibiting this practice.
