Federal Gold Medal Grand Xtra-Lite (1100 fps) with Dissident Arms KL-12?

Have any of you tried running the Federal Gold Medal Grand Xtra-Lite with a Dissident Arms KL-12 Elite Vepr?

It's supposedly 1100 fps. Just wondering whether or not it will cycle reliably.


This is a 1 1/8 oz load, by the way. Just asking because I see a bunch in stock somewhere.

Doesn't directly answer your question, but might help. I tried several boxes of 1 1/8 Winchester AA 1145 in mine which would have issues every 3rd shell. With the ones you are looking at being lighter, don't think these will work out for you but each gun is a little different.

Ask Froelich or contact DA directly. Both are easy to get a hold of and talk to.

They test 1200fps before shipping out. Anything less I don't think they would recommend. Typically, most everyone uses 1250's. With the great comp on them you dont have to shoot low recoil. My go to load is AA 1300fps.

Even though mine was worked over, 1290 is as low as I'll go.

I have had mixed success with anything lower than 1200 FPS.  Now saying that I won’t run anything in mine except 1235Hdcp fed gold garandes.   I have not had a single hiccup running these.
