vincent
Has the location for the 2006 IDPA Nationals been announced? If not are there any rumors of where it may be held? I've heard several people mention Frank Glover's place but nothing to substantiate the idea. On a different note, where would you like to see a future IDPA Nationals held? What ranges have the facility to hold the match?
Steve Moneypenny
Odd question as it has Always been held in it's current location. I do not forsee them changing the venu as it may remove their locus of control. The USSA, if it becomes what it is said to be will be the premier match spot in the US. vincent
Actually the IDPA Nationals has been held in several locations other than CASA. For example the match was held at John Shaw's Midsouth facility for awhile before it moved to CASA. I'm not sure about all the different locations, but I bet someone on this board knows them. vincent
I don't know much about USSA, but someone that's knows more posted this to one of the World Shoot threads: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?...ndpost&p=312518 I don't think the facility is open yet so we'll have to wait and see. Mayonaise
How about PASA Park? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Midsouth was perfect IMO. Great facility. Close to Memphis which is fairly centrally located and offers a lot more than Little Rock. Very reasonably priced casino hotel for the spouse if that's your fair. A lot less than teh match hotel this year. CASA is ok but weighing the cost of travel, location etc... I backed out last week. If it were the 3 hours closer in MS I'd probably still be going. Ted Murphy
Problem with midsouth is they are very busy now with the war on terror and whatnot, with mil and govt training. I dont' see IDPA Nats returning there for a while. Little Rock is not a very convenient place to go to. Not real fun at night either. ted
spd522
Odd question as it has Always been held in it's current location. If I recall correctly, 1997,1998- United Sportsman Club, Jefferson City MO 1999- Green Valley (Chapmans), Hallsville, MO 2000,2001,2002- Mid South 2003,2004.2005- CASA Part of the reason I haven't shot the Nats the past 2 yrs is it being at CASA. Nothing against the range, just don't like Little Rock. I too am eager to see what happens with USSA.
Bill Nesbitt
1999 was at Mid South also. I think the original big match in 1996 or early 1997 that was not a Nationals was at Chapmans. I had been to every Nationals until it moved to Little Rock. Just too far away. Bill Nesbitt
Ted Murphy
1996 was at columbia green valley(chapman range) That wasn't officially a nationals, it was an "Invitational" match. Ted
COF
Green Valley has the facilities for it now since they built four additional bays up top. They could do 18 stages easily. MO state match is there October 9 Jerry

COF
I like having the match in the midwest - of course it's closer for me, but seems like it's more centrally located for everyone. Of course now, if they moved it to Green Valley, it would be even better. Fred, Mike, enjoyed working with you guys. Guess I'll have to plan on working next year, too. In talking to Bill Wilson, he said he would like to have it somewhere near the east coast occaisionaly in order to give the CASA guys a rest and because most IDPA shooters live east of the Mississippi. Melissa Ann
I like having the match in the midwest - of course it's closer for me, but seems like it's more centrally located for everyone. Of course now, if they moved it to Green Valley, it would be even better. -Jerry <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Having it every year in the midwest cuts out participation from shooters from either coast. I know a lot more east coast shooters would attend if it was closer to them and I'm sure the same goes for the folks out west. I think moving it around every once in a while is a good idea - to give everyone a chance to go who wants to. Sure we all save up the money for it, but still, a person from a neighboring state or local to the match is going to pay less for hotel and travel cost than someone who travels over 1000 miles to get there - air fare will be higher, or if you drive (like me) there's additional gas and an extra night or two in hotels along the way. As such, I kinda like the idea of having it a little more east for a bit, then back to the midwest and then to the west for a bit. Take care, Melissa
lbritt
I'll go along with having it at "The Range" in Oxford N.C. I bet the Nats participation would top what it was this year. The Range drew 229 shooters for the Carolina Cup. Not bad considering the Nationals only drew about 285 shooters.

And if they do have it, not until October! Edited September 30, 2005 by Bucky
