Tampa-XD45
It's a S&W Model 66 fitted with a 4-inch Pyton Barrel. Check it out: https://gundigest.com/handguns/the-custom-sw-colt-hybrid-smolt-revolver
WhiteDingo
The hybrid/barrel swap guns were always very interesting to me, thanks for sharing. This one is in the same vein, but a S&W barrel on a Redhawk. 6" barrel had to be shortened and re-threaded.
Jim Watson
These seem to be getting popular again as affluent sixgunners look for ways to dress up their revolvers. I remember when they were in vogue but their popularity dropped off when S&W brought out the L frame guns with their full lug barrels. This and other authors write about their use in PPC, but they are not really well suited. The heavier barrel and 14 twist are somewhat of an advantage but the retention of stock sights is a big liability compared to the Bomar and Aristocrat rib sights. swordfish
It's called a Smolt. Bill Davis used to do that back in the day. My buddy has a couple. You can also do with with a Colt/Ruger, and make a Couger.
