Mulligan03
Bout a new mount for my sv and a go gun thumb rest and the factory screws are to short and the screws that they sent with new mount and thumb rest are to long. So my questions is where can I find the same type screws to find ones that will work? Home Depot or Lowe’s?
mro111lland
There an odd size 5x40 on most guns I would take the long screws and cut them to length

They are next to impossible to buy in the exact length needed. Almost always need cut to fit. A dremel with cut off wheel is the best way.

xSTONESx
SV uses 6-40 screws not 5-40. Fastenal or a similar online retailer will have them.
dvc4you
Insert longer screws in a piece of plywood to the length required and grind/file them down.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
9146gt
Many of the ACE hardware stores now have some gun screws in stock that include many of these sizes. Tom

accu9
McMaster-Carr has a huge selection of hard to find screws in various materials/ strengths. I prefer Torx as they are less prone to stripping. https://www.mcmaster.com/#standard-flat-head-screws/=1c2vnuw
