BigDave
Does anyone know what the set screw size is for a STI competition (non-ramped) front sight is. I had the sight taken off of my Trojan, and I've now in installed in on my SV but I need the screw and didn't get mine back from the GS. Is it something I can pick up locally, or am I going to have to order it? PS - plain black front sights rule
MikeFoley
Are you sure it wasn't a roll pin? All of my STI's had rollpins, not setscrews.
benny hill
Roll pin.
unclez
Is there anyway to adjust the front sight without having to send to a GS? Mine is setting to the right about a 1/16". No big deal really but it annoys me
Matt Cheely
If it's not pinned in, just tap it over with a brass punch.
unclez
It's pinned.
Matt Cheely
I'd just leave it then. Too much trouble to move it.
Fireant
If it's a roll pin what do you do when it comes loose?
jrguar
If it's a roll pin what do you do when it comes loose? Can you say locktite Or maybe bigger roll pin... What do you think Benny
jjanglin
I pout 2-56 set screws on each side of the blade/post use a 1/16 drill bit and tap with 2-56 the set screws are small but easy to put in. Jim Sailors Custom
unclez
Since my front was sitting to the right (from factory) I pulled the pin and moved it to the left and loc-tited it. Probably won't last long but when it comes loose I'll use the set screw method as described above. STI makes great pistols but I really have to wonder about their QC. The rear was also loose when I got it. Kinda stinks to pay that much money on a pistol and have to spend a couple of days fixing what they let slip through.
