twister
I messed up and ordered Prima SV, instead of V, could you tell me where SV is in the burn rate compared to V? Does it compare to Clays or VV310? Thanks for any help on this matter, Dave.
js1130146
According to the Natchezss website it is comparable to Clays and WST. https://www.natchezss.com/prima-sv-granular-shotgun-powder-1-1-lb.html
d_striker
SV is faster than V. It takes about .1-.2gr less SV to make same PF compared to V with a 147gr bullet. I saw pressures issues trying to make 130PF with Clays using a 147. Using SV, pressure is at the higher end with a 147 @ 132PF but I didn't have any issues in about 10K rounds. I love SV for 9 minor using a 147. YMMV. Edited January 5, 2017 by d_striker
twister
I've been loading 3.7 with a 115gr. jacketed bullet. It seemed to shoot really well, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't getting too close to the limit. I guess if I load it the same as Clay's, I should be all right. Thanks for the help, Dave. MemphisMechanic
I'd be far more comfortable with a powder that fast behind a 147 than a lighter 124 or 115. That's really where ultrafast powders really shine in 9 minor, and it's considerably safer.
v1911
I was about to achieve single digit SD with Prima SV using 147gr and 124gr bullets. But the same could be said for Prima V as well. YMMV

twister
d_striker, would you mind telling charge you were using for the 147 gr. bullets? Thanks for your help, Dave.

Thanks for your help, Dave. Here's a thread that some members contributed different loads using Prima V & SV and various bullet weights.
