Hi-Power Jack
Lots of people have both 9mm and .38 super for their guns ...
brytec
Yes ... I'm actually in the process of getting 9mm barrel and comp.. I have 38super comp now and in the process of having to switch to 9mm barrel and comp for local matches and practice... 38 SC, I think is more reliable and better feel but cost a lot more especially shooting outdoors losing all the brass..Everything else stays the same including spring, extractor, etc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Edited August 5, 2016 by brytec

Acsr
Would one just call sti for a9mm barrel for a trubor barrel or is there more to it?
NMBOpen
Mine are from Schuemann Tri-brid, fitted to the frame and slide by my gunsmith. Originally built as 38 Super, 9mm was fit several years later.
Mark Meyers
The barrel must be fitted by a gunsmith, but it's not too expensive.
leon1333
Thanks. That will save me a lot of cash.
tyler2you
Thanks. That will save me a lot of cash. Maybe not as much as you think. Figure $200 for a new barrel, $150 for a comp, $200 in labor to get it fit, $80 each way in shipping if you don't have someone local and it gets expensive quick. There's also the hassle of having to re-zero your optic whenever you switch barrels. I find myself switching a lot less than I thought I would when I had it built. If you're doing it to make a full time caliber switch, it makes sense. As a convertible, I'm not so sure.
Hi-Power Jack
I presume you're talking about 9mm and .38 super in a STI 2011 gun? Why would you want the two calibers? Pick one, and shoot it ..
leon1333
Does this hold true for 9mm to 40 cal
BeerBaron
No. 9 to 40 requires a new slide (different size breach face) as well as different extractor and different set of mags. 9 and 38 is fairly easy. 9 and 40 basically means whole top end.
