Majority1775
Shooting major with a Stainless Phoenix Trinity grip...what is the recommended recoil spring #? Main spring #? For USPSA Limited competition being the goal, flatter. Thanks for any and all guidance. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
PKT1106
Honestly. its all preference to what the gun/shooter combo likes. I suggest buying a few different springs from your preferred vendor and trying them out. I have a 12# spring in my Edge with a PT grip. Can't remember what the main spring is, maybe the 17#. Balakay
I have an Eagle with an SVI grip. The factory recoil spring is a 14# variable. I like 12# variable with 170PF
bokbok_05
I do run 14lbs and 17lbs MS on my Edge major PF load in IPSC standard div. I've tried 12.5lbs but I prefer 14 over 12.

mjohn
I have a CRP 5.0 Eagle from Dawson and it came with a #13 recoil spring. I like it and it works fine. Below is a link that will help you decide. https://dawsonprecision.com/recoil-firing-pin-springs-1911-government-size-by-wolff/ The chart is a good starting point but doesn't cover the full range of "what works" with different guns. For instance, they recommend 9# for Open major, but I know a lot of folks who use 8# (or even 7#) without any problems. YMMV.
