Frankly
Mom and Dad gave me long arms... I don't mind switching to a rife-length tube from my carbine but I'd love to find a lighter stock with a total 14"PLUS length of pull. I've already tried the Luth-AR and while it was nice enough, I didn't need the cheek riser or complications (I know it's a good stock but it felt like I'd break it sooner than later). Would also like a QD socket rather than buying new slings. I like the looks of the ACE stocks but they seem like they're going to be short. Any suggestions from other big guys? It's hard to find true LOP measurements from the manufacturers' websites, everyone measures a bit differently.... I'm tempted just to use a heavier pro stock but want to make sure I've looked at everything. Thanks
ranger
I have an ACE stock and I think there is a thicker pad available to lengthen that stock
Mike9250
A VLTOR A5 7 position tube combined with their EMOD stock gives you a LOP range from 11.5" to 16.25". Not particularly lightweight however. And the A5 system limits your buffer options somewhat, though the Taccom lightweight buffers can be trimmed to work. Vlad
I run a EFX-1 stock, with a DPMS spacer http://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/stock-parts/buttstocks/ar-15-m16-efx-a1-enhanced-fixed-stock-prod41967.aspx http://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/receiver-parts/buffer-tube-parts/buffer-tube-hardware/ar-15-m16-buttstock-extender-prod5559.aspx That comes out to slightly over 14" depending where you measure on the clubfoot shaped pad. It is not very light weight, but I wonder if you could do the same with the very similar looking but more expensive CF one made by lancer.
StealthyBlagga
Look at the LUTH-AR MBA-1... quite light, lots of adjustability:
Pat Miles
Measuring my Ace ARFX stock from thr front face of the trigger to the thinnest point on the rubber pad is 13.5". Easy peasy to make up an aluminum spacer to make the LOP 14".
Fried Chicken Blowout
https://www.magpul.com/products/moe-rifle-stock Comes in at 13.5" LOP as shipped but you can get a 0.8" extended butt pad and I thought it took the same spacers as the shotgun stock they make which should get you several more inches. But you'd have to check on that spacer working.
Dan Sierpina
You can get a thicker pad for the Ace, if that's not enough, make a spacer for it, or even just a thick butt plate instead of the rubber pad.
ccoker
I like the EFX stock a lot.. probably going to use another one on a new build.
