Blurry Red Dot

My eyes require all of the corrections know to man and I see a group of small dots instead of a single dot. Single-correction lenses don't help much. Is a low power scope any better?

I have the same astigmatism problems.

An etched reticle is the only solution like a Vortex Spitfire for 1x.

I have very minor astigmatism that can be corrected by my glasses. It isn't as fuzzy as some describe, but I don't see fine dots either.

Yap the Prismatic optics are the way to go with the etched reticle. I have a slight astigmatism and i can correct it with glasses where a dot is clear. The problem for me is I cant get a good sight picture with irons if I have glasses so shoot Irons with no glasses. For a dot, I need glasses or I have a blurry sight picture. This didnt work for 3 gun as I could choose to have a rifle dot thats clear and a blurr for pistol or a good pistol sight picture and a blurr for rifle. Went with the Vortex Spitfire and get clear with both

Here's something to try for all you, like me, with an astigmatism.

Put a peep sight behind the dot. Try looking at the dot through the peep. (the smaller the peep, the more it tightens up the edges of the dot.)

Or turn the dial down. Just because your dial goes to 11 doesn't mean it needs to be there all of the time. Yes, I have astigmatism. When I had an Aimpoint, I turned the dial to 5 in the day to prevent blurs/blobbing.

lasik/PRK was very helpful for my astigmatism

only have one ghost image of my aimpoint dot now, before it was multiple.

I used to use an eotech on my open shotgun. I don't remember the model but the reticle was a circle with 1 dot above the other (exp-2?). With an astigmatism I would see 2 overlapping circles but for a shotgun sight it didn't affect me much. I've since had Lasik surgery and while the "blurr" got better it did not go away. My burris FF3 still looks like a star instead of a nice round dot.
