bkfranklin22
I have some A-zoom snap caps but they don't fit any of my 929 moon clips(I have TK custom and ranch). Anyone have any other suggestions? I put in a Cylinder and Slide extended firing pin and it suggest not dry firing it without snap caps.
357454
You could make your own by resizing fired brass and filling the primer pockets with RTV Silicone, or you could buy snap caps for a 38 special and cut them to 9mm case length. If you choose to make your own you will need to trim the silicone with a razor blade after it cures.
bkfranklin22
Brilliant!! I feel stupid for not thinking of that.
seanc
I cut a .22 patch into quarters, fold a quarter chunk and stick it in the hammer channel on top of the FP, it deadens the hammer fall on the firing pin dramatically.
bkfranklin22
I ended up using some RTV silicone and it works perfectly. Thanks for the suggestion.
bkfranklin22
How do you keep the patch from coming out? Might not be a bad idea to use both methods.
seanc
How do you keep the patch from coming out? Might not be a bad idea to use both methods. After the first click it sort gets stuck in there and stays. I have a pair of tweezer in my range bag for plucking it out.
Carmoney
I would lose the C&S pin and dry-fire without any junk that could jam up the action.
3gunyotehtr
I wasted a lot of time trying out aftermarket firing pins and after breaking several of different brands went back to the factory one. As long as it is .495 I didn't find any advantage to the extended ones.
Forrest Halley
I didn't see the C&S pin. I was never a fan of the ones I had in my 625. I blew through two of them before moving to an Apex and not looking back.
