Proudprado
I just completed my SO course and got told that pulling back the hammer before the first shot, after the beep, is not on in SSP as it has to be double action. Is this true? I cannot find it in the rules.
v1911
Didn't quite get your question. Are you asking if it's legal to fire the 1st shot single action? 8.2.1.2.1 Selective SA/DA firearms will start hammer down Doesn't say 1st shot has to be DA, just that you must start hammer down. Gregg K
They must start with hammer down, after the start it's their clock to run. If they want to take the time to thumb back the hammer there is nothing in the rules that precludes it. I have seen some revolver guys thumb back the hammer for long or hard shots. It's slower but like I said, it's the shooters clock to run and it's not against the rules.
rowdyb
correct. you're getting a tribal version of the rule. most people don't do it because they've learned how much slower it is.

Proudprado
No, the open book exam was online. The course was "live" at CDPC.

Jim Watson
I once saw a guy who routinely thumb-cocked his Sig Sauer. His times were not outstanding and his hits were no better than for a well practiced crunchenticker shooter. So the only penalty is what the shooter puts on himself.
