  2. Thanks for your trouble
  3. Hi there ....please excuse the (probably ) dumb question.....is there a restriction on the no f rounds loaded at start of any of the stages...i know no of shots is limited but cannot find anything limiting the rounds to be loaded at start... in other disciplines which i shoot here in South Africa number of rounds are specified maybe not IPSC... shot Biabnchi some years ago when it was close to me.....now only shot in Pretoria......I am at the other side of the country.... Thanks for the info....
  4. thanks for the info......the pistol is NOT SSP legal ....it is SA only..... do I try the route of STEEL ...as my pistol is ALUMINIUM frame the range N@#$% have not spotted this extra length since 2009 when I started using it in ESP.... .....my club chair mentioned it in passing.....after the last club shoot last year..... otherwise will have to "retire" and go to another discipline...
  5. I have a Vektor SP1 (SA copy of Beretta )....but with a SA trigger....therefore not SSP legal.. FLDC (aluminium frame ) is 90mm....rule 8.2.2.3.1 says NOT legal for ESP Whilst I am not one to kick the rules if they don't suit me ...I would like to know what competitive advantage I am getting...
  6. Tribal version nothing in rule book to stop you
  7. Proudprado i presume the SO course you refer to is ONLINE ???
  8. Beautiful......I have always felt this but never found the rite words....I have been an Idpa and Ipsc shooter in South Africa since 1999 (ipsc ) and 2001 ( idpa )
  9. Thanks V.....that was also my impression....given that the reference to the steel targets is in the safety section... other references to DQ are very specific....LOL
  10. Rule 2.15 provides that steel targets must be engaged from 10yds or more.... I recently completed the Candidate SO test in which I was asked the question whether a steel popper could be engaged at a distance of 7 yds when the Cof stated that target to be engaged fro P1 (10 yds ) what penalty was to apply... I gave a PE !!!!!.....the answer came back DQ ??? I still have not found the rule which requires that Can anyone help..
  11. Welcome to the club.....you will get a ton of info from the other bodies
  12. It would depend on how you control the gun......Safety paramount.......there is no rule preventing the action itself... Would have to be a bit of a contortionist to rack slide ...show clear ...and catch the flying round
  13. The weak hand losing its grip certainly sounds like the problem......I have also experienced the same problem just last week i realised what I was doing and tightened up .....resulting in my winning the last two stages of a club match At the start I was trying to match the fast and younger shooters Didn't work!!!!
  14. Very Late answer........yes i shoot Standard minor with a 9mm a bit of a disadvantage if you miss the A zone .....but who cares as long as you are having fun
  15. Thanks for your vry constructive comments....much appreciated
  16. Hi guys (and Gals )......hope this is not a boring subject......dry fire practice for PPC shooting... would the drills described by Ben Stoeger ( for example ) be of assistance... also I have a single action Vektor (south african copy of Beretta )....Ben's suggestion on his web site , whereby one simply presses the trigger after the first shot seems a very simple exercise your comments would be appreciated...
  17. For hand gun use.....did try cleaning hole......I am a pensioner so I do have the time... however it made no difference to the ammo ....or accuracy....so use the time to load more
  18. Thanks for your post jte i have the same problem.....watching the target....will do he practice as suggested...certainly looks logical Lol
  19. I go with Bshooter on the accuracy bit. I am 73 and have been shooting Idpa here in South Africa since it started in 2001. hen I try to copy the Rob Vogels all the wheels come off, shoot accurately, and sloelyto enjoy the feeling of zero points down. Ps I have difficulty seeing my front sightnever mind the target at 25m
  20. I didn't make it from South Africa but am very interested in the comments Surely being a WORLD Championship!! means it difficulty level shold be high Shirt cover and swinger alladd to that The SO commands are however disappointng. We don't allow those variations even at our CLUB shoots never mind provincial leagues Lol LOfty
