jstagn
Tried red but it seems to 'flare' with my eyes, so I switched to green. Is there a difference between brands of replacement rods with regards to longevity and other 'qualities' ? Been using Brownells brand, looking for info/comparison on others. Thanks... UncleTK
Try Dawson and you will not use any other type. (They are counter bored)
jon49erfan
He is talking about the rods themselves, not the sights.
chirpy
As to fiber brand I don't have a preference. As to front sight I prefer Hi-Viz.

Nimitz
you should be changing the rods out fairly often as they dull with exposure to the elements and because of that they are all basically the same. I change mine every 3 months. You'll be amazed how bright the dot is when you don't let it sit in your gun for 8 months at a time. Since you only use 1" at a time even if you just buy a 12" piece will last you for a couple of years ... Edited May 23, 2015 by Nimitz
stickboy44
At power factor shooting I got some orange fiber and like it a lot. It's not super bright but, bright enough for you to pick up the front sight.
